Oh, crap. The folder in my entry's zip clearly says HL2, but I forgot a readme. Do I need to reenter? And if so, will that override my previous entry?

You'll want to keep your eyes open for any odd behave once you think your PC is clean, though. Just because it seems it's gone doesn't mean it is, unfortunately.
Good luck.

You can find skins for Scientist Arms here, in the view hands download, inside the barney source somewhere. They fit perfectly on Ambient.Impact's HD Barney arms, so if you can find those on the default HD arms (I think the Svencoop section of FPSBanana has them) you can reskin them easily with the model viewer. As for the labcoat w_ model, you could try using milkshape 3D to decompile an HD scientist model (or use Ambient.Impact's scientist source files, also on the above site) delete the pants, hands etc, and flatten it using the scaling tools, but I dunno how well that would work out.

Good luck on your mod, look forward to seeing media!

Crollo: http://www.goannasvencoop.com/sphinx/FTP/mods/spirit_of_half-life/ Though I recomment 1.5a4, 1.8 has sparks in random places that I'm starting to think is whenever and entity is triggered. Even when developer is set to 0.

Kraken: Looks nice.
Skals: Source can handle more than shooters, it just isn't used for it often. Examples I can think of are Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, (I Believe that's the one in the series that uses source) and Alien swarm.

Well, I'm nearly done, but the climax is a lot less... climactic then I'd like. I don't suppose anyone knows how to get gestures to work properly with a scripted sequence, huh?

On the bright side, I'm getting good results with lightmaps in one area of the map.
EDIT: Mine is finished, and by my current standards, it's a doozy. Custom materials, lightmap scale of 1 in certain places, and HDR. None of which I've done before.

in angled walls and windows Post #284340
You need to clip the holes in the wall in such a way that everything's on grid without losing it's shape. So each wall section with a window in it needs to be made of 4 brushes plus the window; 2 vertical sides, a top of the window area and the bottom of the window area, plus the window itself. If you want the window on a slant as well, that'd be harder.

One thing, I thought this model was supposed to be low-poly- now, I don't exactly follow poly counts in modern gaming, but isn't 1930 polies a bit... high?

in Screwing a silencer Post #284198
I believe it has it's own bone.
Just to show the model in full;
The animations for screwing the silencer on and off are just that, animations.
The silencer is a submodel, that if called by code (as it would have been at the start of the 'on' animation and the end of the 'off' animation in the HL beta when it was used) is made visible. You'd need code to make it functional, but any custom model using the silencer's animations and submodel setup should work properly.

EDIT: On further inspection, it has only the one animation (which must have been played backwards for taking it off) and the silencer is just part of the bone used on the barrel of the gun. I must have been thinking of the CS Glock.

I first played Pokemon Blue when I was about six. My favorite starter (and indeed, my only starter) for blue has always been Squirtle, and the same goes for Leafgreen. In Silver I chose Cyndiquill, and in Diamond (see the gap?) I chose... One of the new ones. I can't seem to remember which.

It should be- I can't see why Valve would dropsupport for something.

Okay, more info required; is Theroses a tribal planet, a high-tech planet, or does it resemble X era from earth?
Im 14, so this is like, years away.
All you'd need is a bik or avi that tells a short prologue to the mod's story, and then add it to the list of startup videos. Hell, you could probably use the flash version to make it if you wanted to.

Maybe the ship gets struck by a meteorite? Oh, I know- before you get out of the ship, maybe have the artificial gravity cut out partially- so the gravity is lower. Depending on the style of the ship, you could make sure the player gets through doors by clever use of clip brushes to guide them through the doorways. Of course, this would only work for submarine-sized or larger ships, and not jet fighter/X-wing sized ships. I've also always wanted a mod to do a (skippable, of course) intro sequence before the main menu loads using the media system that loads Valve.avi/bik - newer versions of the engine support multiple avi/bik files through a text file, but that's just me.

Use the check for problems function- you probably have invalid solids caused by clipping, carving or VM'ing the brushes in a way the compile tools and engine can't handle. It happens. The fix option in Check for problems usually fixes it, but can compromise the shape of the brush. Make sure all your geometry is on grid and can be make out of triangles and you shouldn't get this error often.

I figured it out; The alpha had to be an internal one (the $selfillummask function didn't work) And the TGA had to be save without RLE compression to keep the alpha intact. The tint seemed to be hurting it as well.

I've got selfillum and an alpha mask to work (finally) so the frame doesn't glow, but 95% of the actual lit up part is white, when the texture is green.
Tet: I could do that, but it really bothers me when I leave a part of a map unfinished- that and it looks like crap as it is now.
