and of course
-smooth

and i find that -notexscale makes the lighting look more uniform on walls where there are different scales - making it look more realistic ;)

For stairs:

Make sure they are 16 or less units high - NO MORE
Put an info node on EVERY step - it doesen't matter if the info node runs into the steps a bit - its ok, just make sute the info node's centre is not touching any brush
