Why would it be 'lame'? These people spend there money on a hobby/activity they like to do. Just as some people pay money to be in a clan. You can even compare it with paying money for the sports club.

You dont know what your talking about eh?

If you carve, the edges of the brushes getting extended alot. Thus making it harder for the engine to render and offcourse causing odd errors in the view, just look at the vm tutorial.

Madcow, a real AI does not excist on cuncurrent system, unseless you buy a NASA computer.

The AI these days excists of actions. The only thing the AI decides is what action to chose. Its build up in a tree structure like this:

AI sees player |----> Move| ---->shoot
|                 |---->move
|---->stand still|----> move
|                     |---->shoot
|----> run|---->run
              |---->shoot
Obvioulsy there are hundreds of more decisions to be made in games.

Very good for a first model luke! Practice makes perfect, if a face looks black then select it and press ctr+shift+f. It will turn the face the rigth way so it will be showed in-game.

For exporting, find a exporter that exports to a format that you can import. Sometimes you need to download one for this.

Elon, it is impossible to get better effects with brush tree's. since the model only needs to be loaded by the engine a single time. And thus saves loading time on texturing and the model itself. How good it renders it in-game depends also on your graphic driver. If you would do it by brush tree as seen in Trapts map then well, you would get a extremely laggy map.

I cant say i have a alltime favorite, i play all sorts of games, i got a rather expensive flightsimulator set wich i from time to time hook up to a race game.

Flight simulator 2004, mostly VFR and IFR, training a lot in the choppers lately.

Il-2sturmovik : Forgotten battles. Yes, i like to be violent up there.

Bf2 : excellent teamplay.

Half-life : anyone?

Not sure 7th, i just saw the edit button again, maby a error on the page.

You can not export to .smd Though there used ot be a guide in a hack for that on wunderboy.org, its not there anymore. I usually export to blender or a similair program.

If you'd ever want to use G-max,this is your last chance, Autodesk has anouced that the support for G-max will be stopped, already there was no more info on there website, but with the release of 3dstudiomax 8 they have decided that the support will be cut deu to being 4 versions behind.

If it where to me i'd hang them personaly, but that aint going to happend. Just a big slap in the face for me, coming home from a cold shower,whatever you'd like to call it.

@7th, im afraid i cant change it much more, il have to watch the r_speeds since its a multiplayer map. And the tunnels are already 6 sided to put it into modeling terms.

Started working on a new map a couple of days ago, thought i'd share it with you guys.

Its set in a underground cave system exposed by artilery fire, when the commen wealth and the central powers moved into the caves they quikly engaged in combat and created a stalemate situation, those whom can hold the caves will hold the victory.

Again a map for The Trenches. Dont mind the rock textures, it will need to be replaced if i can get myself a couple of lose hours to draw something new.
