Edit:

Hammer 3.5 beta is the newst for Hl1. Hammer 4 is for source only.(Hl2, CS:S ect)

What version of hammer/worldcraft do you have? I had this problem with hammer 3.4 when I was trying to use ZHLT 3.1, nothing was changed in the BSP. Change to the newst hammer, hammer 3.5 beta. :)
That tutorial should be re-written, Carve and Hollow suck immensly
They do but they are tools that are good for begginers! They are easy to use but really buggy. Only after you learn more these tools become obselete.
How do I switch to 3d texture view?
On the right top corner of the camera view you'll see camera written. Press the text and choose textured.
Also, if I dont carve, how will i create an entrance to the hallway?
Don't bother your self with learning how not to carve. You'll come to this later.

Amen to that. :) It's a great program.

Hammer is better for it can do more stuff and you have more control on what it does, although it's harder to use.

You should use a multisource
Just write in the trigger_multiple's master value the name of the multisource. When the multisource is operational so is the trigger_multiple and when it's inactive so is the trigger_multiple. The multisource starts inactive so you should trigger it in the start if you want it to be active.

You can also use trigger_changetarget, I did it in here
Instead of using the trigger_changetarget to change the target to something else change it to nothing then it wont trigger anything.

It's better to use multisources though. ;)

oh wait, the func_wall_toggle isn't good! It will block the shots! Maybe it wont if you'll texture it with the '{blue' texture.

Use a env_render to render the func_illusionairy invisible. As for the clip brush, remove it and place a func_wall_toggle textured with the null texture. When you'll trigger the env_render the wall will disapear and in the same time trigger the func_wall_toggle to make it disapear. ;)

If you want to make it reaptable, just trigger the func_wall_toggle and use my technic to make rendering process repeatable. Instead of the two trigger_changetargets that in the example change the teleport's destenation use env_renders, one will render the object visible one invisible.

Saco why did you use those volumetric lights? Use foggy lights which are better! That light beam that comes from the crack looks good cause you used the sunbeam texture but don't overuse it. ;)

Chickenfist: At first when I saw only the tail I thought it was a dog, one of those small fluffy ones. But it's much better then these horrible creaters. He looks really lovely.

What did you include in the file? If you have a wad then remove all unused textures, if you have other costum stuff like models and sounds check if you used them all. ALL UNUSED FILES MUSN"T BE IN THE ZIP!!! :)

I had that problem before. If you have an old compiling tool(like q-tools or zhlt that is older then 5.2.1) the sky brush has to be textured with the sky texture on all it's sides.

Dorian there is a way to lock a sprite on it's axis. Try using env_lazer and for the sprite use that grass sprite. ;) As for trees try out fishy's models. They're great but you have to have steam for them to look good! :)

Edit:
If you have opposing force then it has a great grass texture called...hmmmm.....mmm...arghh just search for 'boot'.
