If it's a good MP3 player, it'll be reading the ID3 tags embedded in the MP3 file and not the file name.

All you need to do is open up the tag (you can do it in Windows by right clicking the file, going to Properties, hitting the Summary tab and then hitting advance. Mp3 software players will do the job too) and add in information for track number and album.

So one of the albums would be called "Book 1" which would then have track numbers for each of the discs, in the order they need to be.

Keep in mind that you can shrink the grid size using the [ and ] keys.

Even though what I posted before wasn't quite related, I'd still change it.

Any objects that use the cubemap property will use the closest cubemap in order to calculate the reflectiveness. You'll notice if you look at a scope without zooming in, the image changes as you move, with some noticable jolts as the next cubemap comes into view.

Looking at the bottom right panel, you've carved a complex shape into another shape, which results in terrible fracturing.

Read our tutorials on Vertex Manipulation for a better way to do it.

Habboi is correct: anything face the void is culled by the engine during the compile process. This is also true for faces that are blocked by another face: they're also culled by the engine, so nodrawing the bits between brushes is generally useless. I still do it anyway, just to keep it neat.

in Great Source for Custom Textures Post #203347
Use the Offset tool often. The offset tool in Photoshop allows you to offset the photo so that the edges appear in the middle of the frame, allowing you to see how the edges will line up if the texture is tiled in-game. Try to blend the edges into each other using the smudge and clone tools.
From here.

in Cubemaps? What's that? Post #203346
Cubemaps are series of 'images' taken from within the game that are used for reflexivity purposes. By placing an env_cubemap in a map, you're giving the engine a marker for a reflective area.

When you build the cubemaps, the engine takes 'images' of what's in the cubemap's immediate areas and saves them. These images are called up when textures request them.

Say you have a tile texture. The tile texture would have a property in it that asks for the cubemaps. This technique is used to produce a reflective or shiny surface, as it essentially takes the cubemap image and maps it to the texture that asks for it.

in Hammer crashes on origin brush Post #203345
Well, func_rotating has the small circle. Try using that instead of the origin brush.

Origin texture works fine for me, but the proper origin tool is the small circle in the middle of your entity. If you look at the properties for the func_rotating, there's an option that says "Origin", which corresponds to the position of the little circle. If you move the little circle, the values change.

in Hammer crashes on origin brush Post #203341
There's no such thing as an origin brush for Source...

All old entities that needed an origin brush now include one by default. It's marked by a circle in the middle of the brush. By moving that around, you change the position of the origin.

All the threads on TWHL are stored in an SQL database (as is my understanding). They don't take up a lot of room.

The main contenders for slow browsing are the site's graphics, and the map vault.

I'm with Elof.

I find it more plausible to have a scientific explanation to things, simply because there's evidence of it.

If we take the Christian route, what do we have? Genesis, in the Old Testament. Keep in mind that other religions have alternate creation stories, so who do you believe? The one with more evidence than some words in a book.

Before you get all hyped up and whatnot, I'm actually a Catholic (retired, though) so I've been brought up on all this junk. I have a vantage point compared to those who've been brought up athiest: I've experienced both sides of the "debate" and I made a choice based on my experiences.

While I cannot deny the good that Religion does (various aid missions and whatnot, the comfort given to older people in relation to the mystery of death), I can't ignore the fact that Religion has caused an ambundance of problems, both in the past and in our current world. Our world has been shaped by the issues of Religion: take Australia, for instance. Thanks to some Religion (as much as politicians wish to deny it), stuff like stem cell research is only now being discussed as a viable thing, and something as trivial as gay marriage is outlawed here. I mean, seriously, wtf?

I think that if we live by morals, which aren't intrinsically religious, then we should be fine. Religions adapt morals for their own needs (and it most cases, change them). Abiding by morals of respect for others, peace, understanding and love should be more than enough to live our lives in. I must stress the fact that these morals are not religious: they're common to everyone, regardless of what you believe in. There's a clear distinction between what you believe in and what you follow, which is something that many people cannot see.

Possibly, yes.

Download dbPowerAMP and re-encode the ones that don't work using LAME. Unfortunately, dbPowerAMP costs money thanks to its LAME support (which apparently isn't free anymore), so you'll have to get it via, erm, alternate means.

The Da Vinci Code is a terrible book. It's a simple man's thriller, designed to appeal to the widest range of audience possible. It's fairly simply written, it follows all the traditional methods of writing a thriller. The only reason it's popular is because it oversteps the mark and introduces some controversial Religious themes.

Big fucking whoop. Stop saying it's a good book and read some decent ones already.
