Nice, i fired once the dutch version in the shooting simulator, its like duckhunt only then with real weapons.

And really, to me there would be no fun in shooting at paper targets, its probably just a waste of ammo/money.

Nop, i start out modeling using the reference pictures for the sizes, i geus it comes with experience. I also see the errors if i make them, thats why i do not have much of them, since you can avoid them.

Well, im glad you like it, if the polycount aint to high then il add some details.

Add a meshsmooth to your model, now look down in the list, the same one where you can find the edit mesh, click on meshsmooth modifier, scroll down until you see literation, raise the level by 2. Now watch the result, this is how you do high polygon modeling.

You can do a cut in polygun mode, that always does the job for me, or extruding and welding back.

Though i usualy use target weld, then you select the vertex(es) that you want to weld to a other, then you drag them to it and when a cross appears you can release, it should weld them at the vertex the cross appeard, this is probably the most clean way of welding.

Rowleybob is right, before you edit mesh you got to select the amount of subdivisio on all three axis.

There are .smd exporters for both max 6 and 7, i do not know any major difference between those 2, but they are considered the industries standard.

@spag, odd that the polycount drops, are you sure you dont have any literation in it?

Before i can put a texture on the model i need t ospread out the skin on a ...skin.

You can compare it with ripping of all your skin and flattening it on a piece of paper.

Madcow, aint going to work. Your schedule is way to tight. LEts first create a map and replacement weapons, then we got something to show for the media, at that way you will attract new people, otherwise they wont come, also the next study year will start next week for me, dont know how much time il have left.

And lets drop the multiplayer version for later releases, lets get your singleplayer idea to work first, also if you ned help with coding move to the VERC Collective, there are some coders haging around there.

Il work on the swat vehicle after i have finishd the p90.

There is probably a reason it is banned, il look into it, but keep in mind we want 2 weapons and a terrorist and swat model for the first version, lets work on that first and forget the rest, for now.

Done some research to the weapon and my conclusion:
Its utterly crap, if you want to defend yourself against a well trained police team then you do not want to pick this weapon, it has a terrible aim and recoil, its is a simple weapon and is mostly operated by people whom do not have the skill to operate anything other, the weapon is only suited for mass murder and is therefore banned in Amerika.

Well, look at the movie swordfish, there has the badguy a usp.

depends on region i guess, a terrorsit coming from a communist country will have weapons from the ak fammily, but one from germany probably european weapons, etc.

aw, lucky bastard.

I can see you use the standard amount of sides on the barrel, 36 probably, that is way to much for todays games to support, i recommend lowering it to 12, since for ingame use you will delete half of your weapon.

Not that you need to get it into game but its just a tip, helps seeing how to model a weapon for a game.

I use lithunwrap 1.3 for my uvmapping, the latest version is payware, but 1.3 is still very good, though it requires some time to learn and tends to have a hard time using 2 textures on one model.

Indeed, but dont think its safe out there, most criminal organizations have military weapons, they gain those weapons by attacking weapon transport convoys, that is how they get the p90 or similair weapons, offcourse in america you can buy them on every street corner so that shouldnt be a problem.

I was thinking, why use old weapons, why not the xm8, the p90 and similair weapons from the latest era.

most if the times they have the cheaper submachine guns like the scorpion, the mac and the uzi, also the cheap m16, m4 and equal weapons are popular.

Yeah better, metal frame looks to beveled, sharpen it. I like the colours.
