I have posted about this before,, but,, meh, to long ago to post a replie that no one would notice, and, the game is a bit of a new idea now..

S.W.A.T. mod is a SOURCE mod.
Idea:
Replacing all the different combine soldiers/police models into Terrorist models and replacing 2 (maby just one) of the Citizen models with a SWAT model..
This will build the ground of the game..

If every thing works out as planned, this mod will have realistik damages (1 shot 1 kill in head or cheast, 2 shots in the leg or arm, and so on..)
wich will require a bit coding, I think?

Ok, here is the thing,, We need help!
List of what we need.

-Team leader's (this will include story writing)
-Concept artists (?)
-Mappers (Both MP and SP)
-Coders (Not much at all! Just a few remakes!
-Modelers (weapon only)
-Skinners (A few small remakes.. I would have done it my self if I knew how to handle photoshop.. >_< this job might also do skins for weapons)

One crit, 2 shots in the leg wont kill somebody, only do them some pretty bad hurt, and possible elimination of the leg. And one os able to survive a shot through the head, though its not likely.

Weapon modeler sounds interesting, do i need to supply a Uvmap? And do i need to be able to animate/compile? Or do you have other persons for such a tedious task?

Any references of wich weapon you need, polygon limits etc.

Right now i still got some free time and everything im working on seems to be standing still.

You are right,, 2 shots in the leg doesn't kill some one,, but I bet it hurts.. ;P
I'll increase it to 4..

I think it is ok, if you don't make animations..
Some one else can fix that.. :)

So are you intrested?

The thing is, to make less coding, we just replace weapons,, and name the animations after the old ones,, and removes functions such as plasma balls or granade lunchers.. (coding part)

I'm just confusing you,, :P

Do you skin or should I put some one for that job too? (we do have a skinner)

Ref = Reference picture(s) commenly refererd to by modelers as ref, ref pics or references pictures. These pictures can vary from photos to bleuprints used as a guideline when modeling a object.

Poly Limit= Polygon Limit. The maximum amount of polygons on a single model consisting of 1 or more objects. This is used by modelers to define the maximum amount of polygons, some programs have the ability to set-up a budget for the maximum amount, as a guideline for the modeler.

Moddb profile(s) = A profile on a website aimed at Mods(modifications, see modification) developed for games.

too much of polys will be bad too less polys will make a gun boxy-ish.

Well, I don't know any thing about the polly limit,, so, on that fromt, you are on your own. :(

This is how I got my name: (when I was 7-8)

Well, you know all PC games used to come in box's with about 2-4 screenshots on the back ?

Well it was long ago, when I got Age of Empires 1. I couldn't think of a user-name, so I looked on the back of the box of AoE1 and in the multiplayer screenshot, the guy's name was Slasher. So I used that as a temporary name until I thought of a new one. Then I came attached to it and kept it, so when I started playing WarCraft III online, I thought someone would already have that name so i added added 101. And have been Slasher_101 ever since...

On topic: Slasher_101; there will be no mapping work in the coming week, I think.. Well yes, maby 1, I'll make a concept on tuesday, if I have any time.
That map will be for our test alpha, beta, demo, bah, what ever you say in this game language.. ^^
Any way, this demo will only contain 1 (maby 2! O.o) weapons and no new models.. It is only to test the code. :)
I don't think I'll make it public but all team members and beta testers will have access to it..
I think it will be ready in, 2 weeks! :)

Wich reminds me of,, We need a beta tester!

So if you would like to test our early versions of the mod please replie! :)

Is that the FPS model or the thing that will be shown while it lies on the ground or,, you know..

Be cause if you don't want to make the "lie on the ground model" then we could always use the CSS one.. :)

Its only the base that is done, that will be the buttstock that will rest in the shoulder, shame i dont have the real thing here, that always helps a lot by fiddiling it out!.

Infact, it will be a bit longer!

Man, I'm screwed..
We'll just have to use the omega address (Maby make a DNS? DNS have rarly support of sessions though, wich makes you able to login. :P )

I'm not sure what to do, without the password I can't remove the site and make a new one with the same address (I think)
They can't mail the password be cause it is de crypted..

I disslike to steal stuff, and the mod will be of better qualety if we have our own guns/models.. :)

(we might steal the CSS player models if we don't get a player modeler in time.)

Oh, sorry, I didn't tell you.
We will use HL2 as "base" and rebuild it..
We will remove functions like Plasma ball and granade luncher..
The crow bar might be replaced with a knife (?) and if that happen we will make knife sounds.. :P
All weapons will not be used in the mod..
Every time you finnish a map, you will be stripped of your weapons so you can make a non weapon scene in the next map..
You will be armed before you "move in" and if you try to move in before you pick up your gun someone will stop you.. blah blah blah..

That's a part of the idea.. :)
We will not show any of the HL2 weapons.
You will as maximum have 3 weapons when you move in, that will be: knife backup gun(five seven I think.. ) and your primary weapon, (MP5, P90.. maby some other choices..)

Oh, and every new mission will be as a new chapter..
We might (MABY) remove the ingame save function.
So every time you finnish a mission, you'll lock up a new chapter.

Then, you will be able to browse betwen the missions. ;)

door-breach-explosive-thing, like one of those trip mines you stick to the wall, only you use a remote to detonate when stuck to a door, and it blows the door open or something.

Ok, that leavs out brushbased doors, we will have to use models.
We'll need one more team-mate who can make prop models then.. :)

BTW, we just lost our SKINNER, he was to buzzy with school.
But I think I know some one else..
If not, if you know a skinner or someone that is good in photoshop,, tell me! Or tell him. ;)

Madcow, make the side weapons work together with the main weapon, many handguns are developed as a sidearm for a certain weapon, that is why some of them use the 5.56 NATO rounds. The five seven is the sidearm of the p90, though im not sure.

There mainly the same to share the ammo.
