You know you want to.
What I'd really like to do is finish reading the TWHL3 thread--and that I'm quite far behind on--, and actually get some work done, so maybe I'll waste more energy on this thread tomorrow.

Mephs: Your still missing the point. Might isn't right or wrong. Superior Might prevails, period.

Beliveing something else is true or that humans are tameable is silly, and wasting your time.

Contrary to your beliefs, I am not a racist, so stop implying that, if you please. Race is irrelevant.

This is a really simple concept mephs, that I thought even you would be able to understand, but apparently not. So we'll try it again...

Survival of the fittest, period.

The stronger ones prevail over the weaker ones, and go on. Leaving all the others to history. It will happen eventually, when our already bloated world population is at each other's throats for the last drop of fresh water, or oil, or whatever. Then we'll see how "civilized" humans really are.

I don't know how to make it any simpler for you.

Or realist, take your pick. ;)
Why don't we kill off Americans all together?
Great Idea, no you just have to figure how to implement that idea ;)

Fact is you don't have ideas that aren't spoon fed to you. Try thinking for yourself once in a while. Twat Indeed.

The only thing that is sadistic here is the Idea that we can solve all the worlds problems with diplomacy and no bloodshed or real work.

Someday you will understand, or at least I hope you will.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like Christians any better.

The point is, like the Hilghlander, there can be only one :P
o you're saying killing off one sixth of the worlds entire population would ease the suffering of said population?
I already said yeah. Human life is cheap nowadays, like it or not.

ZombieLoffe you are living in a dream world. The sooner your lot wakes up, the better it will be for everyone. Do I expect that to happen anytime soon? Not a chance in hell, but one can dream, can't one?

@ZombieLoffe: No, it's not the same thing and you know it. Who really listens to Sweeds with superiority complexes anyway? :P
900-1400 million people are muslims today, you're suggesting we kill the lot?
Yeah.

What's your solution if you don't like mine? Yours would be something like, we have to be kinder and gentler and hold their hand until they stop murdering innocent moms and kids and doggies etc.

Well fuck you and your liberal doctrine. It's the do-gooders like you that are wrong with this world. You said it yourself we are animals, and I completely aggree. Survival of the fittest.

Inconsistent much?

We are wild beasts, nothing more.

Trying to pretend that we are anything else--like painting lipstick on a mule--that what we are causes more suffering, not less, and is at the very best a complete waste of time.

Do you really think all muslim men are terrorists?
As I already made clear, I really don't care If they all are or not. What matters is that there is no way to tell the good ones from the bad ones, so you just have to cut out all the cancer and start over, imo.
If a murderer gets arrested in America, do you want to arrest the whole town he was living in?

It took me a very long time to to from won to steam, but I eventually did it. I still don't like steam--And I'm pretty sure you don't either--, but I tolerate it because everyone else uses it.

Killing women and children, first person, illustrates how fucked up they are.

I guess if you wanna get technical about it, you'd only really have to kill all the men, and maybe the boys too past a certain age.

Didn't the Vikings do this, and assimilate the women and kiddies into there culture? Seems like a good plan to me.

Obviously you don't understand their doctrine.

They don't tolerate other religions or beliefs whatsover...it's hail Allah, or die.

Also they routinely bomb little kids, like what just happened in Iraq. They were giving out teddy bears to little kids and their mothers, and some crazy fcuking douche bag muslim fcuk killed like 50 of them with a car bomb.

That's enought justification for me right there to incinerate the lot.

So I guess what I really mean is that you are either a fcking moron, or severly misguided.

All muslims should be burned imo.
If it's the muslim world vs. everyone else, then I choose everyone else. Eventually, I think we'll have to exterminate them... Us or them, simple as that. Survival.

And as far as Gitmo is concerned, they're being treated rather well imo. "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" so to speak, if it were up to me...

But I think you had it in your first sentence, as well other people have mentioned it.

It's hard for our brains to understand certain things, like multi-dimensional objects--> 3--, Infinity, and not least of which, coming to grips that there is nothing when we die.

Just because you don't understand it, doens't make it necessarily untrue.

What about homosexuality with your dad? Is that wrong? :o

Just because something is in the bible means nothing. The only argument they -The bible/religion defenders- have going for them imo is whether humans are born with a moral ethic or any moral values whatsoever. While I'd like to believe we are, I really doubt it.

Which gives the bible or any bible with some sort of commandments a purpose, if for nothing else.

Humans are animals like any other, just with bigger brains and opposing thumbs...

You were right. The lights.RAD file you get with the latest compile tools, has them all+6. I guess those are for animated ones?

correction

Even though more are listed than, not all of them are represented like: ~lab1comp7b. I guess the extra ones are for water textures or xeno too.

K, I'm going to stop wasting time on this and read the TWHL3 thread :glad:

Now I have to check... thanks a lot Pepper... :)

I'm going to guess that 1/3 of the ~textures in the Half-Life.wad, have no listing in the RAD file you get with the latest tools.

I'll post my results here...

in Not an avarage light problem Post #149060
The lights.rad can also be in you c:Program FilesValve Hammer EditorMaps directory, with yourmapname.rad

Which is cool, because you can then have different lights set for all your maps.

I make a brand-new one everytyme, because many of the textures in the Half-Life wad aren't listed in the rad file that comes with the compile tools, anyway--ones with the ~texture...

There not going to 'give'' light if you mean what I think you do. You need sprites, or a fade brush rendered transparent to actually see something.

To tell you the truth, I really don't know if it's possible if scaling or the little check boxes for world and face will do anything, but maybe it's worth a try.
Perhaps try another texture and see if it does the same thing and or redraw the brushes for the hell of it.

Would you mind posting a screenie?

in Entity Comments? Post #148903
This has been mentioned before, and many members--including me--did not see the merit in it. Also apparently, it's been mentioned before that.

In a nutshell, the recommendation was to create a seperarate forum for common errors/known issues pertaining to entities, and other mapping problems.

Perhaps instead, adding user comments to the Entity Guide pages? More mods for that too, I guess, to weed out redundancy, misinformation, and so on.

After enough time, comments could be used to create a more comprehensive Entity guide.

Clicky for a brief example.

Would in a way, kill two birds with one stone.

in Spam Post #148575
You all wan't to eliminate spam? Then perhaps eliminate the "General Discussion" forum.

And then do you know what will happen? 50-80% of the people here will leave, because there isn't enough interesting mapping questions/issues/etc. to talk about. I check the "HL1 Design Questions" first, every day, and every day there is NOTHING in there.

And on the rare occasion when there is, it's most likely ridiculous to even attempt answering it, because it's just some stupid/lazy person that wants to be told how to do everything.

And great job Mods, on immediately closing the "Drink..." thread as soon as I started the my flame session on *The Member Who Shall Not Be Named*--which I'll admit now, wasn't the best way to go about it.

That thread had 90 posts--in a relatively short time--, and everyone who is complaing about spam in subsequent threads, posted in there, including TMWSNBN.

I'll admit, not the most interesting nor informative thread, but fun. Did I learn anything from it? Not really, except what the members here like to drink, and that "blueberry juice" exists--Thanks, Satchmo--, oh and I guess that not everyone knows what Kool-Aid and Dr. Pepper are!

So that's alright, it's closed, and of the 20 legitimate other threads that are still open, most of them have an average of 15-20 posts, and nobody's posting in most of them anyway.

So what's my "point," for all of those looking for one?

If you don't like a thread, don't post in it. Ignoring stupid threads is the easiest/fastest way to kill them. Anything else is just adding to the mess.

Also, I agree that rampant spam exists here, but with decent topics/questions/issues continuing to dry up, what else shall we talk about?

Um.. I meant creating such a pointless thread..
[annoyed]Ah, thanks professor! I guess I should have used the sarcasm tags...[/annoyed]

I think the thread's ok, but it could do with a better title, like:

...On your list now
Who's On Your List Now?

Something a little gentler would sure put a fresh paint job on it, I'll grant you. But as far as being "pointless," I disagree. Also, I think the word you were looking for was destructive anyway.

A little destruction now and then is healthy, for anything imo.
