It's a screenshot made in noclip mode- and area without acces. Most of the problems you pointed there won't be ...a problem in-game :). What you observed is actually me trying to scale everything between 0.2-0.5. Hey, it's a 512x512x512 map, we have much freedom don't we? :D

Nah, it's 1x1unit triangles for curves.
Never would've thought about that.

[EDIT] Added a "hologram" custom animated texture effect in my map. It's on the second floor. Don't know why... just for the "laboratory" effect.
[EDIT2] I hope it's not a problem if I have half a dozen custom sounds included :D.

They are controled by a multimanager. It's for the effect. But I can ignore anyway those errors. The map is running just fine.

I also discovered the secret of making realistic wires. It is called "patience".

ya the blue has to be the last color in pallette.
It doesn't. It needs to be pure blue, that's all. Argh I'll demonstrate this!

DiscoStu, from what I know "{" is there just to indicate the texture should be used with "solid" mode, it doesn't need to be there. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Look, I frequently have this problem. It's wally's fault- even though in GIMP( or Photoshop or what you use), you set the blue to pure blue (0 0 255), wally\the compression format may alter that color. All you have to do is edit the pallete in Wally. Select with the color picker the blue that you consider it should be pure blue, and then edit its properties: make it 0 0 255 ;)

I think it's Strangelove. I wouldn't rate that film 10 out of 10, it's rather boring, though it's an excellent thought manipulator.

As I already said in a thread, this film made me drop a few tears. It's almost a perfect drama.

Au revoir les enfants

This is another drama, with the children becoming friends in a school. One of them is a Jew, and it will be taken by Nazis at the final of the film.

I don't know why, but older films like these really touch my soul, these new films are mostly ...."cold"...

And I also watched Band of Brothers, which is a series of films from the WW2. Here's a shot: The Nazi camp
If you're attentive, one of the commanders or lieutenants or what are they, really looks like Barney Calhoun :)

I'm like Captain Terror: I don't have a favorite band, and I listen to music according to my feelings...
And my music is as diverse as my feelings:
-classic music(just a few tracks, I don't have a lot of them) for delight/anger/melancholy
-rock for enthusiasm
-pop/"normal music" for ... regular feelings, or how should I define them ....
-electronic music(dnb,trance,bigbeat etc...): when I sense a little doze of adrenaline combined with enthuziasm....

Oh well... I just watched a very cool film, Jeux Interdits(1952), il m'a fait pleurer... the guitar music alone makes me feel sad... that film woke up a lot of feeling in me, it's the best drama I've ever seen...
So for the next days I'll perhaps avoid(not really intentionally) listening to "happy" music :(

[EDIT] Oh that film just makes me want to be 11 again.... I just love their simplicity and innocence. And the thing that hurts is that, as I grow up, my innocence is lost.... I make contact with the crude world... and after watching films like this I can't just ignore that fact( I'm usually optimistic)...

In 2 or 3 weeks I'll have a mini holiday of about a week( if not 2, but I don't know). Until then I will upload my cubicle( which frankly, is kind of a mess, but perhaps it's funnier that way... you'll see..).
Then, I will try to start on a map using the King of the Hill, as Rimrook suggested. Hurrah to Ati ! :D

I don't think you understand what's a texture. First of all, easy on the vocabulary, I haven't insulted you to talk like that.
Second, it's meant to be used as a poster\logo, what you want.

Quick mapping question: If I have a toggle-able door(from a button\multimanager or something else), when it is toggles(so that it moves), and on one of its faces it has a animated button texture, will the texture animate to "Open" state ? ( I made a custom on\off texture +0mytexture\+Amytexture)

[EDIT] I found out the answer. It won't. Damn... I might try using a button :\

I made a loopable sound. With goldwave, added 2 cuepoints( one at the beginning and one at the end), and saved it as 8-bit mono WAV format( altough I tried with 16-bit and it works in some cases).
WHY IS THE SOUND NOT LOOPING IN-GAME ?!?!?!?! :furious:

All HDD companies adhered to a new standard for HDDs: 4 kb sectors instead of 512 bytes. This should improve the efficiency of the HDD with about 10-15% (if I remember correctly), the problem being that Windows XP is not so compatible with this technology. The real problem for XP users is that this technology will gradually be implemented until 2011. So it's implemented as we talk...
I anyway want to switch to Windows 7 by 2012 or 2013...

Microsoft had its peak, I think, in the late 90' and at the beginning of the last decade.
What they did with Netscape was miserable. No problem. Now they are slowly being killed by the evolution. See Microsoft Encarta. Destroyed by Wikipedia...
The only software that really keeps them alive is Windows, because it's just so popular, and Microsoft Office.

I don't know what's the time limit on this, but I'm going to post mine in 1-2 weeks, depends...
It's because I have little time to dedicate to mapping right now, but small projects like this worth the chance :).

Expect a low-quality brushwork, but lots of funny entities in my cubicle.

They'll soon release Nvidia GTX 470 and GTX480. With support for DX11 of course, CUDA and PhysX.
