Easiest thing in the world.

You could do all those things, but if it's just a straight trajectory, simply make the whole thing a func_door.

Adjust the speed to your liking, and make the lip a negative amount.

Lip = -3000

Increasing the amount of -x units will keep your jet moving farther, as you increase the value for x.

The tree line looks quite realistic imo, except try varying the placement of the tree brushes--so you can't see the same pattern over and over.

If anyone could direct me to some decent sites for Jedi Knight II maps, would be greatly appreciated. I've just reinstalled JKII and am going through a JKII renaissance of sorts.

Of course I've found a bunch googling, but It seems every site I go too is filled with a zillion pop-ups/ and fifty links to download 1 freakin' map.

Are you saying you'd like us to 'remake' both the plane and the truck with the fewest amount of brushes possible/best looking?

I'm not sure I could make the plane much better, because it's very well done imo, but I'd certainly try.

The Truck on the other hand, there is much room for improvement.

Seventh: Would there be an easy way to put a checkbox for each forum, under your 'Modify Profile', so that the user could see only those that were checked?

So that say for Joe user who's settings were:

*--HL design Q
_--Source design Q

_--Site Comments and Suggestions
_--General Discussion

...would only see HL design and Maps 'N' Mods threads on the homepage and/or forum area.

I personally would zap completely the 'General Discussion' forum. I waste more time in there making enemies, and not spending my time here as origianlly intended:

Wow. Like IEMC, I'm astonished; and yes, so is my mom...

Where to begin?
The people who dont misuse them are the people who dont use them. It's that simple.
Simply untrue. Almost everyone I know indeed does owns guns for target shooting and/or deer hunting. How the fuck would you know anyway?
I challenge anyone to bring up anything good which guns have done which don't involve 'defence' against other weaponry.
Guns don't do anything. They are tools like any other--Hoe, Hammer, Bleeding-Heart liberals :P
Hundreds of thousands of people died because of the A-bombs, to supposedly "prevent troops from dying in combat".
This could easily be the most ignorant thing I've ever read anywhere.

Not only did the Bombs save an estimated 1 million troops who would have been lost invading Japan, Nuclear bombs--or more accurately the threat of destruction by them--are the one single thing alone that has prevented WW3, WW4 from occuring.

Nukes have saved a thousand fold more lives than they have ever destroyed. My god, you are autistic!!! But you make really cool Star Trek maps, so you get a pass in my book :P
The only role you played in Europe was joining the British and Russians in heading towards Germany...
Sorry Kasperg, I was wrong. This wins the most Untrue remark I've ever read.

FYI, without the nonstop supply of Britan by the United States, It's widely agreed Britan would have capitulated long before Russia even joined the Allies. And even before the US entered, they sent an astronomical amount of fighter planes and weapons that done without, The Battle Of Britan would have gone the other way...

With Britan unsupplied and beaten, It's also widely excepted that Hitler wouldn't have had to postpone his invasion of Russia, and Russia too, would have fallen to the Nazis.

For christ's sake open a book before spreading bullshit like this!!!
I think Seventh needs to mature a little. I find that picture to be very offensive. You shouldnt take a stand for peace and at the same time promote hatred and violence. That is what we call a hypocrite.
Agreed.

And though I definitely think Seventh-Monkey has stepped over a line here as a mod, I do not think he should be unmodded now or ever. He's much too valuble to this site and it's members!

If I used your logic, then we would have to ban swimming pools, since people drown in them or break their necks when they jump head first.
I was talking about banning cars, to attempt to illustrate how flawed your logic is. Banning guns--or anything else--because a fraction of a percent of the population misuses them, is pure idiocy.
You'd be speaking Indian dialects if it wasn't for Europe, or more certainly, you wouldn't exist wink-wink - ;)
Don't be absurd. Without the United State's direct support of Britan and Russia with first supplies, then munitions and troops, all of Europe would have been conquered by the Nazis. Maybe you'd prefer this?
A poll set in the United States could be more absurd smile - :)
The point is you can't have an unbiased poll about one side, set in the 'base' of that sides worst enemy. Are you autistic or what?

I'm speechless.

What could possibly be more absurd, than a public opinion poll about the United States, set in Europe. You couldn't pick a more biased place full of America Haters--except maybe the Middle East.

Europe isn't the world, as much as you wannabees would like to believe.
;)

Name one specific threat that's worse than Russia's sketchy accounting methods for their nuclear weapons--who amazingly, didn't even make your list...

That's just not fair.
Tough shit.

So nobody can own a gun because of the .000001% occurance of accidents/mishaps with them? While your at it why don't you ban cars? They kill way more people than guns--at least in the US.

And I know your going to say "what about the rising numbers of criminals who use guns for violent crime??"

If we made the penalties for using a firearm to commit a crime/not keeping them secure more severe, those numbers would go down dramatically.

But the liberal bastards who bugger up this country, would rather eliminate your rights, rather than prosecute those who abuse their rights.

Yeah with 2 seperate stairwells, each 10 stories high, I was hoping to get away with ramps...

I guess it doesn't really matter, since only small portions of the stairwell will only be able to be 'seen' all at once.

Shouldn't be a problem for r_speeds, nor map resources, I guess.

Thanks for the help!

Figured out the problem, well at least I think so. The hosties were actually falling through the floor!!! I found them when I walked back downstairs.

So I'm guessing my 'ramps' are too steep? Or maybe If I brush each stair it will help? The ramps are all > 16 units thick.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

in Hosties Disappear! Post #129140
I'm currently working on a cs map of a 10-story building. The hosties are distributed in seperate rooms on the 6th floor.

While testing, I noticed while escorting them up the 4 flights to the roof/rescue area, they eithe disappear, or just stop walking after 2 flights or so.

Going down the stairs doesn't seem to be a problem.

Do they need info nodes or something!??!

Map something you know.

As with writing, it's much easier to 'build' something you know about, and have/have had direct experience with imo.

Even mapping something you would consider 'boring' but know every detail of, could turn out to be a pretty decent level, because you know all the nooks and crannys about it that others don't.

I've noticed when I try to collapse/weld verticies, I usually ruin whatever I'm working on. Plus I have way too many vertexes, so this is quite a big deal for me.

What I have so far:

By easy, I mean something similar to the way you can do it with splines. All you have to do is hit the refine button to add them.

if i used some textures from different maps?
Definitely. First I would agree with Kasperg to check out the Custom Textures tutorial.

Also, as Daub said, you'll need Wally to open/extract the textures you want from the other wads.

The only thing I can add is: Donot include the all the textures, from every wad you use! Take the individual textures only, and put them in one wad.

If you want to get a little fancy, you can use the -wadinclude parameter, described in the tutorial. This way, people playing your map won't have to fiddle with more files than necessary.
