At least you can select vertexes in the 3d view, so you don't get lost in the 2d view windows.
Use the selection editor tool, it lets you select faces in a 3d window. You can also hold ctrl or shift(one of those) to select vertices in a 3D view.

I wouldn't recommend Milkshape for anything other than model hacking or simple low-poly modelling. Animating with it, UV mapping with it, and smoothing with it is vastly more complicated than it should be and it doesn't even work as well.

Well its more for the server to keep up with if there is a whole new member instead of an anonmymous post. I mean, if a guy posts anonymously, all the server has to do is register the post and that person's IP once. If someone makes a whole new account just to make one post, the server has to register the new user, all the information about the new user, the user's avatar, and probably a bunch of other internal code, in addition to logging his/her post and IP.
I vote anonymous posting for the sake of keeping TWHL speedy!

Give Exmortis 2 a shot if you're into games like that. Its pretty good.
99 Rooms was pretty interesting to go through because it had some really good "mind horror" going. The others weren't too great.

I'm pretty sure I've asked this in the past, but it was at least 2 years ago and there are a lot of different members now. Most of you don't live in the USA, or any primarily English speaking country for that matter, yet all of you are obviously very fluent in the language. How long have you been speaking English and where did you learn it?

Well, a few seconds before that there is a close-up of her face turning more and more disfigured. Well, I've saved the last image before the Ring tape images show up and set it as my avatar.

That's the kind of thing i mean when I say functionality. I'd be awesome if someone mapped those parts out

this is sort of pointless without rowleybob.
He had the site, the rewards and everything.
He hosted the website, nothing more. Zombieloffe created the website, so we can get the same website on a new host with his help, and Rimrook created all the trophies. Rowleybob's leave changes nothing.

You won't face people from the internet in real life.
..so who cares what they think.
On the contrary, I found out that some regulars from my old CS server happened to live in the same city as me after they had been playing in my server for a month or two. We actually hang out a lot now.

Aye Aye Cap'n it starts today.

Advanced Brushwork Minicompo #11 - Map a Gun
Map a single-man firearm(pistol, rifle, shotgun, etc) or propelled explosive(RPG, grenade launcher, etc).
Rules and notes:
-The gun can be real or made up. Just remember to be extremely creative if you are going with a concept weapon because you will have to compete with real life replicas.
-Weapons must be "portable", meaning they can be carried by one man or used by one man, not necessarily handheld. No turrets or artillary or any of those massive guns that have to be grounded. Weapons with bipods are acceptable, but no large mounted weapons are allowed. If you are afraid that your weapon is unacceptable, post a question about it in the minicompo thread and I'll let you know if it's ok.
-Judging will be based on accuracy, functionality(largely optional), and most of all, detail.
-"Functionality" means more than just a func_tank that fires bullet sprites form the barrel.
-Custom content is allowed.
-Weapons do not have to be realistically scaled. Preferably, they will be realistically proportioned, but the actual size of the gun in comparison to the world doesn't matter. Remember: bigger = more room for detail
The competition will last two weeks, ending on the morning of the March 13th(roughly around 7:30 AM US eastern time). As usual, it will also end after 5 entries are submitted, and all entries beyond 5 on the last day are accepted as well.

Good reference website: http://world.guns.ru/main-e.htm
Let the games begin.

in Advanced Brushwork Mini-Compos Post #213896
The scaling of the gun doesn't matter. Correct propportions would be nice(says the man with the side Viper), but the size in comparison to the player/world doesn't matter at all. Like I told you in the PM, bigger = more room for detail. You could make it the size of a castle if you wanted.
A func_tank would probbaly be a bad idea, as it would limit how big your gun could be in comparison to the player. If you were to go with it though, like I said before, it would have to be some kind of rifle with bipods or a machine gun or something, not a weapon that could not be easily picked up and carried away in real life(like a mounted cannon).
When I said that functionality would be a good thing to have, I meant functioning parts of the weapon. A func_tank is nothing, anybody can do that. I'm talking things like working slides, releasable magazines, and even a full blown firing system(complete with all the necessary parts working and a bullet coming out of the barrel).

1) Have you had them long enough to have any issues of note?
2) What kinds do you have? Widescreen or not.

I sent you a PM with a few of the details for the next minicompo, A. As for your question about the guns, it would have to be a "carryable" weapons like a rifle or a pistol or an RPG or something. No turrets, artillary, or any large weapons that have to be grounded.
We need trophies.
