Dont get very excited about Lieutenant Kas being on the team. Of course, his mapping skills are great but that means the whole team needs to work as much as him to balance the quality of the mod.
good luck kas, and cheer up. Its hard to tell a decent story in the HL engine. No cutscene videos or media, and voice acting is limiting.
Think again! Wooza!

!!!
I've been trying to get people to post more in here forever! nobody listens!
It's really pissing me off!

no wonder people keep thinking we're dead when i'm the only one giving media. ffs
Calm yourself, Sergeant. If they dont know how to do it, you'll teach him to! If you tell them to jump, then they will jump! If you tell them to die! They will die! If one of them is not even working on the mod, kick him out. There will always be more eager people on the net to do it instead of them. Or you could just expand the team.

But since %80 of the mod is finished, there isn't much to worry about. You can even finish the %20 yourself, right? (if they are not working, of course, or it would be disrespectfull.)

C&C 3 was shit. Honestly.
Get Zero Hour or Red Alert 2.
You need to play the first C&C and tiberian sun to really enjoy the third.

Zero Hour was a joke, china, america, terrorists. Come on...Come on!!!

Red Alert 2 was the bomb. Still good and will always be.

Mapping/modding doesnt require the internet
He is not going to make it and play it all by himself, testu0
How about we all shut the fuck up about this because there is no possible way i can finish 6D completely in the next month. I'm solving the unfinishing habit by never starting another mod ever again. I'm not leaving either, just not mapping for HL.
Problem. Solved. Happy? Now quit your bitching.
Someone is having a bad day, I guess. Well, I didnt mean to make you mad. So chill out! How about you go and take a chill pill.

i only did that once. I saw turnstile as being ambitious for my schedule, so i started something smaller. But eventually, my classes require more attention now than before. So i'm in the same bind as before. Eventually I'll have to stop mapping as a hobby all together.
In reality, my life is changing and I gotta make some difficult decisions whether or not you approve of them. I've been proposed with opportunities i can't miss. I can't let a few minor priorities get in the way of the ones that hold a lot of weight on my career.
of course not. Your life decisions can not be judged by someone on the internet, ever. Thats why I'am only criticising the decisions you make on the internet.

And tetsu0, what the hell are you talking about? I'm talking about the mods not about Rimrook "plz do not leave". Because he will be forced to anyway, sooner or later, his new life will interupt his life on the internet(lol life on the internet).

well i'm sorry, but i dont think you're thinking objectively. You have an error in your map, so you should fix the ones you know about and then perhaps the crashing error will become more obvious.
Thats the only error in the compile, so far. After fixing it, I think the map will still crash but no harm in trying, of course. But hell, if it works I'm going to write your name in a corner of the fucking map.
I've had tons of crashes because of the
Warning: Larger than expected texture
error. That's all I can say.
Are you serious? I compiled almost 10 maps with the same textures. But come to think of it...Why would it make it crash?

O...kay. But that's not what I really meant. You see..you start a mod with an idea then you continue it, working on it. But instead of working on the same mod, you start another?! And tell people you dont have any time at all. That confuses me, if you dont have much time. Why start another instead of finishing the previous one?

A few awesome Ideas spawns from this however. Such as Zero-G Deathmatch using Sprit's Zero-G field capability. That would require very little to accomplish, perhaps 3 months of steady work, and some decent models.
Just dont, you'll probably give up after going the half-way anyway. Like Turnstile and 6-D. Once you start something, finish it.

Man, its the same thing. I do it both sometime. But the problem that I want it to be answered is not that. That would just fix the leak can not be a reason for a map to crash.

No kidding?
A leak or the textures never can be the cause of a crashing map. Or not in this case because other maps just compile fine.

I was editing the post but you replied :)
No special console messages, nothing, it just crashes.

I tried mostly everything to fix it but its really hard to fix when you dont know what the problem really is, so I started to minimize and divided it into 2 maps, the 1st one is working perfectly but the 2nd one fails now.Anyway does anybody have any ideas about what the problem can be?

Here is the compile log of the compiling 2nd map which crashes in hl.

hbsp crashes during compile, I'm using v3.4 ZHLT final. And other maps just compile fine. This was too, compiling nicely a day ago or 2 after I made some more brushes (copy-paste) mostly from previously done prefabs by me, it started to crash. I tried to fix it myself; after deleting 2 or 3 complex brushes it started to compile again but now when the map starts the HL CRASHES! Anyway does anybody have any ideas about what the problem can be?

@espen180: In the first screenshot, that barrel is bigger than the player!?
Walls need more detail
And fix the lights, it seems like you are using light-spot but those lights dont look like they are on. So place some lights under them with a dark-grey color/brightness so that they can look more realistic. And maybe sprites with glow mode.

Kurosaki, first of all read some popular and pro mod's stories like PoV, Poke646, Heart of Evil, They Hunger, Afraid of Monsters...etc then compare them to your mod's story. And you'll actually see that yours will look very simple next to them. Also, your story doesnt actually make much sense at all. What is this guy's mental condition? What does he do for living? Who the hell is he? Why is he seeing portals? Why is he entering? So fix these first, then start mapping. But a mod's story can be more creative, you know. That mod has written "Crash Bandicoot" all over it.
