The only bad thing about the space age is that your planets have way too many disasters which you have to solve. Very annoying when i'm a thousand parsecs away trying to negotiate for a race of lampshades to lend my fleet one of its ships.

it's not an MMO, PB. There's no actual live element. The "multiplayer" element is only that every other creature ever created ever could appear in your game.

My first ever race, maytheyrestinpeace, just got blown into oblivion by a master fleet of space brocollis.

i fucking love spore :']

[quote]Hello,
Okay. I have just made some changes.
Can you please get back to me in 24 hours. Any time tomorrow.. and let me know if it is continuing still.
The worst case scenario may require moving you guys, but I really don't want to do that because of your established IP in the gaming community.
I hope you find what I have done satisfactory.

Spike might have been joking, but i watched a program on it where a British scientist takes the camera crew around his part of the LHC and it is actually built, down to the the last bolt like a HL1 test-chamber look-a-like.
I'll try to find the program on BBC iPlayer and show you.

FresheD, those are the reasons I use Opera.
It's customisable to a crazy extent. It has IE-mimic skins and everything.
AND everything you need comes with it.

I expect most firefox users would convert if they gave Opera a fair chance and weren't getting shafted by their own pride.

the Wii also has a sense of humour. So do google. Read the main incognito page.
Going incognito doesn't affect the behaviour of other people, servers or software. Be wary of:
Websites that collect or share information about you
Internet service providers or employers that track the pages that you visit
Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
Surveillance by secret agents
People standing behind you

Firefox is the playstation 3 - very powerful in the right hands, full of stolen technology, relies on its community for support but very solidly built and functional.

Opera is the 360. Functional, nifty and well designed, offering the greatest ammount of choice, catering to all types of users despite occasional spectacularly terrible crashes.

IE7 is the Gamecube. I mean really. that's not even an update.

Chrome is the Wii. Never going to be taken seriously, but everyone will sneak a shot when nobody is looking. :3

Kasperg found a partial sollution to this known problem.

In the console,
buildcubemaps
mat_bumpmap 0

then reload the map

mat_bumpmap 1

reload the map.

in HDR is a pain in the arse Post #254926
Upon compiling my current CS:S project with HDR enabled, I've run into this rather perplexing rendering issue:
User posted image

All reflective surfaces appear pure white.
It's map-wide, not just that one area, and the map is fine with mat_hdrenabled 0.

Cubemaps were built using buildcubemaps, and in an attempt to find a sollution, buildcubemaps 2.

I know I've seen someone post about this before, but i couldn't find the thread.
halp please?

ok, satchmo....

i'm sorry, but that was bloody awful.
I thought you would at least have increased the map size slightly since i played the HL2DM version, but no. Honestly, who were you kidding when you made it a de_map?

There are also several game-ruining bugs like a player clip you can jump over into the skybox (CT spawn) and a gate that can be walked into/through a bit.

Texturing is pretty poor over all still and none of the annoyances from the last version were fixed (open well etc.)

Very, very disapointed.

it's a TWHL server, and as such, if a TWHL member wants their map tested on the server then I will by all means allow it.
If that map turns out to be popular, the map will go on the server rotation. If it's not, it will be removed.

as for Laura, I'm afraid most of the community here are really bogged down with uni work or their own projects so I wouldn't get hopeful of someone making a map the scale you're asking for. It's quite a time commitment.
