The sounds should be in
C:/Seirra/HALF-LIFE/modfolder/sounds/customsounds*/sound.wav
*Newly created folder.
Now if it doesnt work, then make sure the path in the ambient_generic is correct and make sure the sound.wav contains no spaces, if this doesn't work then its either your dll code or fgd is leading it to the wrong folders.. OK
OH and maybe you set up hammer for the original half-life instead of your mod---> Always a possibility.

How many times has it got to be said--- USE A SCROLLTEXTURE and tie it to a func_conveyer, and set the angles correctly OK

Hows the "Loading" process, Is it run off the same engine as the first, I found that the first halflife was incredibly fast loading... well?
Ya you can use the older version, but you will have to use the HL2 Fgd file.
