I don't want games too look that good. It would be too hard to map.
I strongly agree.
It's hard to me to get used to the new ( for me it's new but I know even the source engine is old now ) Source engine . I like half-life 1 graphics and I just get exalted when I know there's a powerful active hl1 mod community ( that's Sven Coop ! )
You know , everyone can have the will to play something like that , but not everyone has the power and the money ...
Maybe someday these companies will realise that making a game ultra-realistic isn't the principal goal ..... How ? Who the fuck will have money for crossfire\SLI , huge case , huge cooling sistem , huge hdd and huge bills ?
Yes , that's not the path for a green computer . These experiments should remain experiments and should not be produced into some game\application and then be selled ....
I would really like if more people would map for hl1 ...... I don't know why , but it sounds fun
. 10 years for this engine , and maybe 20 more , just for nostalgia !
[EDIT] Yay I have an Ati Radeon Hd 4850 !!! But I promise that if a game with this kind of graphics appear , I won't buy it .
