back to the point, these sites should not be linked to because 1 - they are illegal 2 - having those kind of links discredits TWHL 3 - they are full of viruses and i directed the sentence to 'all the fucking noobs' because these sites (who am i kidding, theres only one) this site has been linked to several times by noobs on this site and each time the link has been promptly picked up and removed from the post (usually because i have informed them) if you are smart enough to find this site and dodge the viruses, you are smart enough to realize why it shouldn't be linked to.
those are some pretty nasty names... ill make up some happy ones to counteract...
> pie > pie - the sequel > pie the second sequel thats better than the sequel but never as good as the first > turnips > turnips - the sequel > pie vs. turnips > pie and turnips go to the circus > pie eats turnips > turnips - inside the pie > pie - the next installment > turnips - life in the small intestine > seven hundred and twelve toasters > pie - the turnips strike back > time for another pie > pie - the fifth installment > turnips - life in the large intestine > final pie > turnips - where no turnip has been before > pie - the remix (v645 radio mix)
out of the three major games out using it, (D3, Q4, Prey), Prey is the one that uses the doomtec engine best, followed by quake 4, doom 3 stunk bigtime. can't wait to see how well ET: quake wars uses it.
source, doomtec and unreal all have their advantages, source has a big mod community, so does unreal, doom has dynamic lighting, if a bit too sharp, unreal3 and source have HDR, etc etc.
also, destructible environments could add an extra level of gameplay, as it did in red faction. for example, the player could bust open a door with explosives and watch it shatter into splinters
stop being so damn impatient! iirc, the mods have lives too, although that could have changed in the last few months. otherwise, they're holed up in their basements playing cs, so leave them alone kthx. (if they don't have a basement, it's the lowest level of their house/apartment/whatever, or a hole in the ground.)
