Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has suffered a "significant brain injury" after crashing a jet-powered car at speeds of up to 300mph during filming.

Doctors at Leeds General Infirmary said they were "reasonably optimistic" the 36-year-old would make a good recovery.

The BBC, which is likely to face close scrutiny, has begun an inquiry. The police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are also investigating.

the man is a legend. Best BBC presenter without doubt, and Top Gear kicks ass.

Yes Brainiac was rather crap, but that is beside the point

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond is stable but remains seriously ill in hospital after he crashed a jet-powered car during filming for the BBC show.

The 36-year-old was thought to be driving at about 300mph on an airfield near York when he crashed on Wednesday.

The BBC, which is likely to be closely scrutinised, and the Health and Safety Executive will investigate the crash.

Top Gear co-host Jeremy Clarkson, who was visiting the hospital, said many motorists were "rooting for" Hammond.

er.. I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but if you mean what i think you mean, this is how:

Create your pad. Over the pad, add a trigger_push with an upwards direction.. that's it actually..

To have to jump, make it higher than the player?

Add an env_shooter if you want rubble too.

env_shooter:
name - mine1_splode
pitch - 90

Trigger_once
target - mine1_splode

I really think i used too much JPEG compression here, but the image size was dangerously large at 90% quality, so i took it down to 70%.
Next time i think i'll sacrifice file size for image quality.

Oh, and i figured the stair gag was just so goood that it had to make a re-appearance ;)
To be honest, the last 2 comics have just been continuing the story.. It's surprisingly difficult to put something funny in-between a reasonably serious plot.. for me anyway

er.. im not sure I understand you correctly, but if the problem is that only the top surface is rendering, this is not a problem, but a rule..

Only the top face of water will ever get rendered unless you use DX7 water, which frankly looks awful.
