in LETS TEST THE NEW IP BAN! Post #84082
IP banning doesnt work, you can always use proxies, if your THAT intent on messing with a site (in which case you need a life). Also, you're forgetting we dont all use static ips. Personally, I think email authentication for new users would be the best, that way persistant twats can be smote with the wrath of ban quicker than they can set up new identities.

(aim for the one without the comma, jk)

You've just revived said account by mentioning it (I could tell from the style and language of those posts with 99% certainty of who it is), but, while at the end of the day that account might be annoying, its hardly plaguing the whole site. Isn't banning every stupid account a bit much?

Loffe, if you look at my pic you'll notice that my clothes are crappy primark, as opposed to ben sherman or addidas. I also have a distinctive lack of ANY kind of jewelry or eyebrow piercings. We can conclude that there are only trace elements of chav in me. :P

in JOIN THE AAL NOW! Save TWHL Post #77724
I understand how annoying the trolling can be, but this time I couldn't be bothered emailing atom/banding against the guy. I'll do my part to help the deletion of his posts by ignoring them, and any susequent posts other members make as a reply to them. The problem will always be here untill he gets bored or grows up. If he makes a valid point, fair enough, but otherwise I'm stepping over his posts, and life would be a lot easier for mods if we all adopted this. There nothing else you can do, that doesnt magnify the trolling. Give me an AAL t-shirt and some badges, though, I like freebies.

in R.I.P "Dimebag" Darrel Abbot Post #77448
yesturdays news...
Yes, but I slept through a lot of yesterday! (7pm - 6am)

Anyways, after the obligitory Korn phase that most people went through (detuned guitars = music phase), the first REAL band I listened to was Pantera. I got all their albums, and all the DVDs (which I have to admit make me cringe sometimes). Point is, I grew my hair long so it could look like Dimebags; it didn't. Despite having curly hair, mine looked retarded and semi-sex offenderish. I spent a lot of my teens venting my anger by thrashing like a lunatic to Pantera. In a darkened room. By myself.

I was as pissed off as anyone (though saw it coming) that Pantera would kick Phil Anselmo out. I never got into the side projects, and, although I feel Anselmos vocals and lyrics made Pantera as much as the music, I can't help but feel that despite his talents, he's nothing more than a Prima Dona. I'm still waiting to hear of any mention of him in the list of mourners. I just hope he doesn't scream and rant "PANTERA IS DEAD" as loud anymore.

Panteras use of confederate imagery and the whole cowboy imagery attracted a lot of neo nazis and headcases, the "you killed pantera" lunatic proving this. I saw it as a 'Don't give a shit' attitude, and associated with it instantly. I loved, and still love Pantera, and Dimebag was kinda my hero, (though I could never play a note on the guitar!). As someone said "Underneath the tattoos, purple beard and long hair, he was the nicest guy" he, and Vinnie Paul were always the ones that seemed to just be out for a good time.

He seriously is someone that I will miss.

There you go. A non-TWHLer thinks not. The moral of the story: TWHL at an unconscious level is racist.

Mr. Anonymous is correct about its origins, the symbol however was not tilted at 45 degrees though. I doubt that Kol is attempting to make a profound political statement by taking this most famous icon of oppression back for the people. But it does look good. And kol is a kinda jewish name anyways isn't it? I'll give him the benifet of the doubt strangely. ;)

I prefer the snarkpit way of just having a funny irc quotes page. But that wouldn't work here because,

a) Morons would fake logs and generally piss on it.
b) Not much of what is said is actually funny. (except me, I'm always funny. Even my abscence from the channel oozes hilarity :P )

Its mostly spam in there, so theres nothing really worth imortalising.
