Well I might write a tutorial on something. (I'll write them better this time) ;)

Any ideas? But please not textures. I haven't done anything VTF/VMT related in ages.

Spike I wrote a really rough tutorial on VMT code in my journal but new TWHL has hidden it for now. There's a tut anyway.

I think the map needs a make over in the section I call lighting. I think using Valve's style of BLUE/GREEN or PEACH/YELLOW with excessive GLOW would do it justice.

Yeah but why would he need it? All textures are in Hammer, if you need to look at the VMT code then extract and open in text.

No seriously I find it exciting making these things but what input would you have? Mapper or do you suggest using Valve maps? Even so what would the plot be?

At one point I was gonna revive Tom the Headcrab in a machinema where the producers say his comic stunk so they end up making a film :)

Well my advice to you is write a small game document with the story and just a brainstorm of ideas. When I go out to uni (1 hour and 30 mins trip) I take a special notepad where I jot down ideas and dialogue for my mod. Really helps just 'dumping' all the shit onto paper so you forget about it XD

Well you got to ask yourself a few things...What skills do you have? Can you map that well? Model? Code? Generally if you can't code or model but map then perhaps make a small SP mod for now.

Then when you are confident with a mod idea go for it. However don't go over the top :D But you wont attract anyone unless you show them media to let them know you are serious and able to contribute.

Personally just stick to making FPS mods aka a HL related mod and if you are good enough perhaps join another mod with a unique idea rather than make a new one which wont be finished.

By the way use the edit button rather than double post. It's under your name but only for the LAST post you made.

And if you want over the top mod? I once tried to make a Shadow of the Colossus based mod o_0

If you are going for 2D why not just make your own 2D game using Director MX 2004 D:

OR just make a map or two with a story for Gmod 2D D:

Madcow: 'Would ya Kindly' tell Satchmo to get COD4 because Bioshock lasts too long which isn't a bad thing but the fact the gameplay never changes nor does the enemies means it gets tiresome.

I had a Radeon 9800 Pro and that ran HL2 on max with no lag :S so I find it strange why your 'upgrade' has had strange effects.

I found school to be boring after 7 years at the same place...Now I enjoy 2-3 day weekly visits to uni.

The thing that makes me think epic game is its music. Gameplay can be average but I'll tell the World how epic it is because of the score it uses.

I think there's one for the aim as well..not too sure.

You need to open console and enter those commands in. Console is opened with the ` key above tab. You will need to enable console via options, keyboard, advanced.

Well as far as I know the next map has to be in the exact place where the player triggers the changelevel. This was for HL1 and I'm sure HL2 is the same.

I think the second and third shots need a mix of lighting colours. Chuck in some dark corners or turn off one of those lights.
