Ok thanks for the replies, I wanted to make custom decals so I can cover an office scene with papers, postits etc I guess I'll just have to do it on the textures

Hi! I have spent hours googling tutorials for this and playing around with palettes and I can't get my custom decals to appear in game, it's not that the transparency is wrong, it's that they don't appear AT ALL, even if I copy existing decals from the Halflife decals.wad

Step by step:

1. Opened up decals.wad and copied an existing decal
2. Right click > "paste as new" in my custom wad file (I know this is working as all my other custom textures work)
3. I can export and import the palette from the original texture to the new texture, it makes no difference
4. Save the texture with { at the beginning of the name and the save the wad file
5. Open Hammer, place the decal using the decal tool, compile the game, run the game (Sven coop), cry cos its still not working?!?!

I've also tried using the wally "HL Color Decal" wizard which creates a new wad file which I imported and used, didn't work. I also tried creating textures from scratch with a greyscale palette, didn't work.

I've tried everything I can think of, need help to make awesome maps, thanks

i have an old map called de_cabbage which is a sewer map with a sorta waste processing unit. u can use that in your mod if u like. should be hosted on here still

Check out my cs maps at ftp://81.107.134.57... i wulda just used the submit map feature but theyve gotta be less than 2 megs for some reason :S

De_Greec3 is a bomb defusal map set in a small village. Terrorists start with a vehicle capable of holding the whole team and, waypoints, secret tunnels and low grav mode are all supported. Very fun map to play with a lot of ppl

De_cabbage is another bomb defusal map set in and above a city sewer, it includes res file for hosting, overview spectator map, custom textures, ambient effects and an interactive environment... enjoy =)
