Right, sometime I'll get round to organising competitions for twhl. I won't be able to enter, since I'll be the judge, and it's going to be very hard to organise since I'm not an admin of any sort, but I've been thinking of it for a while. Maybe not a christmas comp though.

I've got a slight problem in my opfor map. I always seem to get yellow blobs when trying to make grunts sit down (monster_generic, one of the preset models). So, I had the idea of using cyclers for it. However, there was a slight problem: The sitting grunts were completely black, even though there was adequate lighting in the room. I think it might be caused by the cyclers being embedded in the chair so they sit properly. Can anyone shed any light on this (Ignore the rubbish pun)?

...without actually knowing how to model. You DO need ms3d, but you don't need any modelling experience. Anyone interested? I've been experimenting with opfor models. I'm pretty busy, so it'll take a while, but I may get one done.

Can anyone help me? I've edited the fgrunt model to have some extra heads and weapons, I edited the fgd and the heads work fine (unless I use a new weapon), but I don't know what number to have before the weapons in the fgd. I made a guess at one point and it turned out horribly wrong, with different heads and weapons. I'm putting up the edited model and fgd in the vault (I deleted my old guess). If anyone is willing to rewrite the fgd for me, I would be very grateful.

If you are coding for an hl mod, do you need the full sdk, or will the source only sdk be enough? I have a compiler and all the source code. Is that all I need?

It's seventh-monkey who has the monkey av. Also, just an odd fact. In firearms, there are a few textures with monkeys on, but it calls them menkeys for some reason. EG: (texture names) menkey1, menkey2. Freaky, huh?

9mm pistol? You can't give a grunt a 9mm pistol! If you mean an mp5/m4, then I understand (9mm AR). However, I have had this problem before. They occasionally lob grenades even when you set them not to have any. Also, hgrunts spawned by a monstermaker will have an mp5/m4 and hand grenades. So it might be monstermakers causing the problem. It's just a bug in hl/spirit.
