No, it's VERY bad. What if someone is going on holiday for a couple of months or so with no access to a computer or the internet but is normally a regular? It would be so unfair on them, having their account deleted because they need a break. No, keep the members here, but try to encourage them to stay.

Maybe not a tropical island. That bit in nightfire was OK, but not brilliant. I think a military base is the forest/jungle with some ice sections in the mod would be good. I got those ideas from goldeneye, but anyway...

We should have it in: Forests, Icy areas, prob'ly not mountains, maybe dark, not deserted towns, maybe military, MAYBE high tech, but prob'ly not. Mountains is ok. Something military would be good, like geussetelli's imports and exports in redemption. But hl is severely lacking in icy stuff, so that would be good, as would forest. Plot? Hmmm. I dunno. I'll leave that to you guys for now.

I like your ideas ministeve! Kol has spirit as well, so us 3 could do the spiriting. Actually, with spirit, we don't need voice actors, you can edit the voice pitch of NPCs with spirit, although higher pitches speed up the speech, and lower pitches slow it down.

About spirit (I'm repeating what others have said but no-one seems to have picked it up) : NORMAL HL MAPS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH SPIRIT! So if anyone who knows or has spirit makes them for spirit, and people without or who don't get it use normal HL, then the spirit users can piece the lot together!

Skin maker? No problem. MS paint, adobe photoshop, Paint shop pro. Use PSP. REALLY good. And you'll need hl model viewer to change the skins.

So would I. I have bags of free time I'm just gonna waste if I don't do something productive and fun. As for custom models, they should be allowed if they are low def, since I love reskinning low def grunts. I agree that we use spirit and original hl, and also, won't people have started upgrading their computers for hl2 so high def models WILL work with most people? Still, better not to take risks. Besides, you have a bit more freedom when reskinning low def models, they have more textures to edit. Anyway, your plot ideas sound OK, but I have another suggestion (It was originally going to be a mod of my own but it could be this) : HL, but you play as a regular scientist with no HEV suit (You use spirit's start with HEV thing so you have the HUD). You are just going about some sort of simple research, office area maybe? Anyway, you are just doing basic research when the disaster strikes. Like my idea? And also, about the mapping, we need to make sure that everyone gives it 100%, how can we make them? Maybe we should have them reviewed in the MV and not accept anything that's rated 2 or 1? Maybe we should get atom to disable ratings for the person who submitted it. Anyway, those are my ideas. And, in case you just flicked through and didn't read all of this, I'll say it again:
I'd like to be a member of the Core.

Yeah, I guess original HL is OK, but I really prefer spirit. You can edit monster voice pitches and give 'em dif'rent models so you can have several kinds of barney etc.!!!!!!!

I know, it really deserves much better publicity and treatment. As I said before, it's brilliant if you want to make a mod, due to SO much more versatility with the NPCs! I turned barney into otis with a model, env_customise, and monster_barney!

OK, I'm just gonna stick with regular HL weapons. I would love dearly to have a barney with MP5 model (If you are a high def-er, make a barney with M4A1 model, which is what I really want)! However, it isn't that important. My C++ compiler's kinda lame anyway. Oh well. I made a civilian otis by reskinning the armoured otis, and it looks ok! Any other single player mods out there? I'd love to play another...

Spirit's more versatile when making mods. Env_customise allows you to (kind of) create otis with monster_barney! Barney's model: otis. Trigger the env_customise at the beginning of the map to alter his voice pitch and it looks and sounds just like otis, although he says the same sentences that barney says.

Change the existing weapons or add more. Suggestions: Sniper rifle! And I'm thinking of doing another black mesa mod (YAWN!). HL: Science. You play as walter. It will have a lot of blue shift's characters (Civilian scis and barneys, gordon in a lab coat maybe). And I'm gonna work on something with black cat: HL through the eyes of gman (A single map). HL: Science is gonna be made with spirit. It may have other civilian scientists as well, like luther and slick. Maybe a civilian otis. Also, does anyone know where I can get the opfor source code, so I can add opfor's weapons to the mod? At least the desert eagle, anyway.
