everytime i make a 3d skybox it has big lines along the edges of it, how can i get rid of em?

I put barney in a map, to test it. I shot him a few times, he didn't take damage and he didn't respond. what can i do to solve this, ive fiddled around with some of the AI settings, but it seems to have no effect.

turned up the anistropic filtering to full and put everything to high:
looks a bit better but its still giving me the same problem, when u say move away from the walls do u mean the edges?

this only happens when u r at certain angles as i get further away from it...

I used the create nu mod thing in the steam sdk and i've got two problems:

one:: when i complie and run a map it compiles fine then gives teh error:
"Failed to load the launcher DLL:
The specified module could not be found." - how can i solve this and get the map to run

two:: how do you import weapons into hammer?

Now this is gonna sound stupid, but how do i make a switch which will lock a door which is unlocked, but also unlock the same door which is locked with the new input/output thing? So basically a switch to unlock/lock a door.

It happens on everything using the HL2 engine, I just put in a Geforce 6600 GT, though i have no problem with Doom 3 and I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed...

This isn't really a modding question but does sort of affect modding 'cos HL2 is messed up and before someone suggests it, I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

Basically the problem is, all the character models and some of the object models seem to be damaged, they have polygons jutting out all over the place and have holes in them, and i've found no similar problems on the net (thats why im posting here). I installed it before on win98 SE and didn't have a problem, its only after upgrading to Win XP SP2 that I had the problem ( I formatted when installing XP ).

Has anyone had a similar problem or got a solution cos its really getting annoying.

yeah my ram is only 256mb, I was gonna add 1gig of ram but apparently its better to have 2 sticks of 256mb rather than 1 stick of 256mb and another of a gig...

By the way.. I've only had this problem since I recently installed XP, before that I was running 98SE and had no problems...
Also when I click to maximise the window, it gets smaller...

Every time I run a map i've made, and go back to it after running, the 3D view in Hammer goes white. Its flipping annoying cos I have to keep logging off and on so I can see the 3D view... anyone know what the problem is? I'm running XP Service Pack 2...

I would use SoftImage, but my monitor's crap, so my display only goes up to 1024x768...

By the way Snarfblat, its not a matter of 'I want to learn to code real quick', I just wondered if anyone knew the code which i would have to use...
