ok since CS is 32 players would that mean that i would have to place 16 info_player_start and 16 info_player_deathmatch entities to have the full number of players?

Why did you try to explain to me how to fix it?

ok rule out the individual moving steps. they get out of sinc way easily and bunch up and form gaps in other spots...unless there is a way to use the multi_manager or something like that to keep them syncronized.

i could never get my dedicated server to show my external IP. it always shows the LAN IP even if its set up for the internet. i had to go and find out my external IP. this site will show you your ext. IP http://www.danasoft.com/

also my dedicated server never shows up on my server list. either i have to go in the console and put "connectect 198.0.0.3" or use a program like Xfire or ASE to connect.

two words: port fowarding

if u know how to configure ur router then enter the port # u will be using under the port fowarding option (you may have to specify which computer the ports are fowarded to).

alternatively some routers also have a DMZ Hosting option. if ur router has this turn it on and enter ur computer's LAN IP (NOT YOUR EXTERNAL IP). by doing that it automaticaly fowards all the ports to ur computer.

also may be due to a firewall. check ur firewall settings and make sure that the correct port # is open.

well i tried the track_train method and i guess that wont work. the steps move fine until u get on them and then it has that dumb thing where the object stops when u get in the way. so all the steps get bunched up and it drags me to the top and kills me even though i had the "damage on crush" set to "0".

i guess the only way it will work is to have the moving steps as a visual display but use a func_conveyor to move the player.

well think about it...yes you add all the steps as track_trains but each track_train needs its own path_track to start at or else theyll all begin at the same one and they will all overlap and appear as one step...not much to look at let alone use. lol ill just try to make although it will probly take ages. ill be sure to submit it if it works.

ive had no problem with steam. as a matter of fact i had more problems with my games before i got steam. i love the fact that i can play HL2 and all my other games without fumbling for that dumb CD that crashes the game every time it gets the slightest scratch or fingerprint on it. buy the CD and install it once and forget you ever had it. and if u finally got rid of that tin-can-on-a-string dialup modem, u can download it.

come to think of it i believe CDs are becoming obsolete. i never use my CD player anymore cause i got all my songs on my ipod and most of my games ive either downloaded or they run on steam. (sorry to change the subject but i got ADD)

i have seen my share of tricks in HL maps but one thing i havent seen is a working escalator. im not talking about a func_conveyor with a cheap immitation texture...im talking about the real thing - moving steps and all. it would be cool to see an actual escalator working...if anyones up to it...
