.wad, that is. :glad: I've been looking all over the internet, but can't find it. Well, I did find one.. but I think it's edited or something, for it only has the platform textures, and I am in need of the rest of the texture set, specificly those for the yellow arrows and bars as seen below on the screenie;

..this is my last resort. So if anyone has that .wad, or knows which the specific textures I was talking about are in, then could you please upload it? Much appreciated in regards.

Tbh, Half-life just doesn't lend itself to be translated into a movie.
Comic book movies sucked for the longest time but then BAM, Dark Knight in your face.
There were some good ones, but if you're looking for something more than loads of action.. then comic book movies just aren't for you. Also, the Dark Knight has got to be one of the most overrated movies in recent years. BAM, in your face. :sarcastic:

Feeling cynical, Tito? Still, I don't think he's all that much of a legend, for the simple fact legends are known by all ages; i'm pretty sure most people in the age 15-25 atleast heard of Clint Eastwood. And the fact you thought he played in 007, but actually didn't, shows what a legend he is. But i'm not one to twist with the dead, so R.I.P. Ricardo Montalban.

Exactly. Or to put it in a different way, not top-maps-worthy.
That was just a normal comment on that map.
Conflict of interest. It isn't fair to the other mappers who don't have tons of buddies to rate their maps up.
Perhaps, but the world isn't always fair.

Sjeesh, people are being way to nitpicky cough potatis cough..
1. Maps without 5 stars won't make the top map list. Leave them rest.
2. Friendly votes are opinions aswell, like I explained before.. besides, a map with 1 vote being 5 stars doesn't really matter much either. You won't see them much, if not at all, on the top map list and we're all sense-able enough to know it's not worth much.
Also,
http://www.twhl.co.za/vault.php?map=1262

Spammed ratings, and a very crap map, tbh. Yes I downloaded it.
I liked that map! It wasn't all that crap... not worth a 5, but still.

Mmm, bad example indeed.. but still, you don't have to 'evaluate and review' for the simple fact that isn't a must-do when you rate. You comment. So 'good map' followed by 5 stars should be just as valid as a long winded review. Obviously, a review is much more prefered and better.. but doesn't mean a simple comment isn't valid enough to count.

Also GP, who says somebody who made a dust remake didn't put effort into their project?

in Top Maps Cleanup Post #261395
If you vote for a political party you won't tell why exactly you voted either. A vote is an opinion and an opinion isn't fact-based and doesn't need any description to why he finds it so. Even for the simple fact a friend of the submitter joins this site, gives the map a 5 for the simple fact it's his friend.. it's still an valid opinion, perhaps not a fair one in your eyes but matter of fact is.. opinions aren't always fair.

in Top Maps Cleanup Post #261391
I can't see any reason why an in-your-eyes shitty dust remake can't make it to the top maps? Voting is a democratic action and if there are a lot of people who like that remake then who are you to say '.. pfft, that doesnt belong in the list'. Obviously there are some maps that got boosted by its own submitter (since that was possible back 'n the days) which is unfair.. but if different people in the current system voted high for that remake then I don't think you should remove it from the list, EVEN if the voters aren't regulars.

/end rant.

Texlights are possible in Source, however.. I highly recommand using light entities such as light and light_spot. You have to understand there are some big difference between Source and goldsource, one being lighting. Lighting is dynamic in source and texlights just don't come out that nicely. :\

in Rooms: Source! (co-op) Post #261239
You can map for HL2, HL2:EP1 and HL2:EP2.. it really doesn't matter because the total package/project will be compiled into mod form using the Episode 2/Orange Box engine (..can anyone confirm please?). But you don't need to own any OB game to have this engine, because it is given free when you have ANY source game - like penguinboy said earlier (..right?).

Anyways.. if I can fix myself some time I might be in aswell. I got a pretty simple idea, but I have to try out different themes to see what works best first. :hammer:

in Episode Two Mapping: noob questions Post #261238
Sjeesh, even without ever mapping for source I'm amazed you didn't figure out some stuff. You need to place an env_suit. This will spawn the suit, which you will also see in the hammer camara. The suit lets you sprint, see your health.. all that stuff. If you place it right on the player spawn you will start with the suit automaticly instead of walking to some place in the map to pick it up.. but I hope you already figured that down.

..and I agree with Hunter; getting another games' material is a pain in the arse. The stock HL2 content should be more than enough to get you started tbh. For tutorials on how and how try TWHL, Interlopers & Halfwit. Good things to get started with are the displacements and basic stuff in the I/O system. May you deliver something great for the Rooms: Source project; I will look forward to it. Good luck! :crowbar:

1. I don't think you should use ep2, simply because I wouldn't be able to play the final result then! Please reconsider.
2. Why would you need a sky when we're talking about rooms? EDIT: Never mind, I forgot windows. :death:
3. Perhaps we should use teleports rather than corridors to connect the rooms, given the fact the rooms will probably be totally different.
4. Traps, small puzzles or even a bit of camara work are allowed?

Didn't get anything either, but without the economic problems I wouldn't get much either anyway. My dad left my life so my mom works 24/7 to get food on the table for me and my brother. But I don't feel I'm one to whine, knowing there are people who can't even afford food.

all the content for the tests is merely being stuffed in the brains
Nowadays, people from a lower level of high school can easyly get to a higher level due lowered standards. My class is filled with kids like that and I can really notice the difference in intelligence between me and them... and i'm by no means a wonderchild. It is just a matter of studying the given information for one to pass...and people that actually belong on the destinated level don't even need to learn to pass the tests. It's sickening tbh.

Also, on-topic; we hardly have asian kids on my high school. :o

I might have watched too many TV, but I think American high schools have a much better system than dutch high schools.. from a social perspective that is. It's amazing how many school 'teams' and 'organisations' American highschools have, and activities with that. Seriously, even the strangest kids can find there place. To give you an example; some American high schools even have 'anime clubs', I mean cmon.. how can you be an outcast with clubs like that! In Dutch high schools there are no school teams whatsoever.. and the only activities ever happening are occasional sportstournaments and school dances (which are nothing like the balls you Americans seem to have). If you're a social outcast you will stay that; sitting alone in a corner in a filled area without any given oppertunity to socialize. Our academic standards are very low aswell.. our high schools have 5 difficulty standards based on your IQ. I'm in the second highest, but it's piss easy for me.. which it shouldn't be. I could do the highest, which I shouldn't be able to do in theory. But they lowered the standards simply to have more kids make it to a higher standard. It's fucked up.

PS: I might be wrong about the American high schools, because TV isn't always close to the truth. So I would appreciate an American to reply to that.
