The Brotherhood Of PFMGWB Punks welcome the settlers of Snarkistan. They gleefully invite them to pogo to their favorite songs from Exploited, and beat the living shit out of those, who happen to have beer with them.

Although rejecting any kind and form of imports, the members of the Brotherhood ask the Snarkistanese, if they could supply them with manpower, so that they can establish their very own brewery.

We, the Brotherhood Of Please-Fill-My-Glass-With-Beer Punks are a free and independent nation. The capital of our brotherhood is Scumton. We don't import anything from other states, only ourselves into Zappaland and ask for beer at the countless concerts and festivals, that are held there. At the time of our settlement, we were also thinking about settling near Metallaya, but after a short discussion, we came to the following conclusion: We don't like water. Or swimming.

Fallout 3. Now thats a non-linear game and there are literally thousands of paths to take.
True, I also pretty much enjoy Fallout 3. Although some events are too random for my taste.

For example, when I was supposed to kill an android on a quest, I found out, that it was in Megaton in Craterside Supply. Then I was just running around Megaton, searching for more clues and suddenly, this random woman pops up from nowhere (literally) and starts asking, why I'm searching for that android, taking the quest in another direction - what wouldn't have happened, if I didn't just randomly walk around the city, practically doing nothing. Maybe I just need to get used to RPGs :P
Mass Effect has the best story of any shooters.
I would hardly say that. It's not bad, but the story wasn't pulling me in like say, Mafia or Deus Ex. Besides, the whole story is just a ripoff of the Heechee saga from Frederik Pohl, so it's not exactly original either. Only here, the writers didn't work on the backstory and intentions of the Reapers, and simply went with the Hollywood approach: "They're wiping out the entire universe, because...errr...they're EVIL!"

in Issues with XP install on lappy; Help! Post #267405
I've had the same problem with a HP lappy a month back, and tried to install two different XPs (one with integrated SP2 and one with SP3 and a shitload of drivers), ending up in both cases with a BSOD.

I looked it up back then, and I think the only solution would be a BIOS upgrade - or rather downgrade if you want to install XP. But a BIOS upgrade is quite risky and could end up fucking up your lappy...so it's up to you.

On the other hand, if this laptop has at least 2 gigs of RAM, it should handle Vista or Windows 7 without any problems.

Achievements are just personal goals now. The unlocks are awarded to you randomly when you play... or just wait in the spawn room.
Wow. That sucks. With that, they kinda killed the purpose of the achievements.

Let me get this straight. So, the descriptions of the achievements - i.e. what you need to do, to get them - don't count any more, only the time you're playing?

I can't try the new system for the next two weeks, so forgive me, that I don't get it.

The story sucked, and it had too many "wtf?" and grotesque moments in a bad way.
I quite liked the story. Sure, it was a bit hard to follow, but - for me at least - was clear in the end.

As for the grotesque moments...well yeah, that's common for cyberpunk flicks.

But my point is, that there are numerous films, that already done this, I was just giving you two examples, but the list goes on.

I totally agree with m0p. This is just the same shit, like with the bird flu four years ago, and all the similar shit pumped out by the media the years before that.

I remember, they were scaring off everyone, by saying, that if not by the end of 2005, by the beginning of 2006, bird flu is gonna become a worldwide epidemic. And then - you'll be fucked.

Bullshit.

Oh yeah, like Caboose said, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the mainstream media. They just want to stir shit up to have the viewers attention. Also - although I'm not sure, that this is true - some guys at 4chan hacked CNN's server and uploaded fake information about the flu, which they didn't recognize for several hours. That's how much they can be trusted.

in AVI Converting Problem Post #265913
Hi all,

I'm having serious troubles with an AVI file, that I've made with Adobe Premiere. So the problem is:

In the first 16 seconds of the video, I've inserted a JPEG in Premiere, after which the actual video footage begins (imported from a DV camera). The AVI, wihich I've exported with Premiere is a standard PAL video.

I've tried converting this video to a H264 AVI, MPEG-2 and even MPEG-4, but all have the same error after converting: These first 16 seconds, which is the duration of the JPEG, only lasts for 3-4 seconds. It fades in, and without holding, it just fades out. So the whole audio is screwed up. I just can't understand, why it's working in the original, and why it does not after converting.

The original AVI is 1,7 gigs, and I want to upload this video to youtube, so converting is a must.

Does anyone know, what the problem could be?

Thanks.

Thanks for the input. :glad:

I did eventually manage to fix up most of the pages, by deleting all menu graphics, fiddling around with the cells, and putting them back in.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to learn HTML and CSS right now, since the site launches on Wednesday. I thought about it, though I'm always scared off when I take a look at a few lines of code - maybe some other time, when I'll have enough spare time to start learning.

But right now, well...sucks to be me, I guess. I hope the other pages won't turn out having the same, or even worse problems.

Thanks again for your help!

Hey guys.

I have a quite irritating issue with a homepage, that I'm currently working on. The thing is, I'm not really a pro at creating websites, so this might have a horribly simple solution.

Ok, so I have a table-based layout, which looks like this in Dreamweaver:

User posted image

And when I take a look at these pages in Firefox (but this only goes for those pages, where the height of the main cell is greater, than the summed height of the menus at the left) the menus just fall apart, meaning they have crazy big space between them, even though I didn't set any border space. Looks like this:

The funny thing is, that this error only occurs when using Firefox. Google Chrome and IE work just fine - I didn't test it with Opera.

So, dear web designers / coders, what could be the problem?

Thanks

Is it just me or is far cry 2 an incredibly bad game?
I would say, that Far Cry 2's pretty much, what I missed from Crysis. The gameplay is in fact repetitive, the story is almost non-existant and uninteresting, but like satch, I loved to just go around, watching the sun set, listening to the surroundings, explore (although there isn't much to explore besides diamonds and guard posts) and just to shoot anyone that moves. :glad:
