Half life has the full potential to be successful. When making a movie about an idea you don't have to follow the damn idea all the way, the movie wouldn't be about a guy shooting aliens and bosses you idiots. It would be about the plot of half-life.

Ok, so I'm planning on making a 4 minute long movie. The soundtrack i have starts slow for about 35 seconds, and then it build up to an awesome action tempo, but what should I have the little clip be about? It has to be dramatic to go along with the music, so any ideas along those lines will be put into consideration. (Disaster, big battle, first flight of something big, gimme some more ideas)

btw this is for hl1, im not talking about flash animation or anything.

It can't be a faulty display, because when it dips back down to 70-80 I can play for like a minute before it goes up again. It lags until I get that thing where your weapons are "picked up" again or something, like I reconnnected and then my ping is normal, but in a few seconds it goes back up again.

Ok so I have ISDN, some of you in europe know what that is, but for those who don't it's a special high-speed phone line. I get 64k per line and I have 2. SO here's the deal, a few days ago I am playing cs and my ping goes up to 600, holds for a second, and then goes back down to 70-80. It does this the entire time I'm playing up and down and up and down. I don't know if it's because I am only using 64k and not the entire 128k but I'm pretty sure I didn't use 128k before. Even so, if I had a too slow connection (64k) wouldn't the ping stay at 600? Is this just because my internet is too slow, a steam problem where it's doing some other fucking thing while I'm playing, or is my ISP being flakey?

lol jobabob I understood everything up until your last post :D

The only fact that I needed to know to start being athiest is, if you believe in one religion, and not others, you go to hell or whatever, or some bad thing happens. If that happens with all religions, I can't go this hell AND that hell if I don't believe either! There wasn't religion around with the cro-magnon man days, i wonder if they are in "hell" because they didn't believe. Somebody invented the dang thing...for what purpose we do not- wait we DO know! To control the masses! Yay problem solved athiests rule

What I do have learned is a set of simple morals and guidelines which most religions share, but which atheist seem to lack.
I'm athiest and I have more morals and guidelines than most of the christians I know. Most of the christians I know are very fake, they pretend to be nice when they really aren't.

The whole point of the "advanced brushwork" mini compo was that it's hard to create good looking brushwork in hl1. It's easy in source so the challenge is gone.

Clock maybe....but there are better things to design. Engines, make a gun that you can walk through or something. That would be cool. Or have the compo be open ended, just map a machine on a much larger scale so you can see the way it works in the map.

Lego idea sounds fun, but doesn't REQUIRE advanced brsuhwork, which is what the whole idea is.
