Freebasic is cool because the syntax is identical to qb with about 2 exceptions. BTW, I think the link might work now! At least it works in ie. I only had trouble w/firefox. (scary, huh!)

Or are you learning to program and chose an exercise for yourself or such?
I just got FreeBasic, and am learning how to use it. I've been using qb for 4 or 5 years, (maybe more), and this was something that I wanted just for fun, figured other people might benefit from it. But the download still doesn't work, so don't bother trying until I fix it.

no, it just tells you how long your compile took. I can't decrease your compile time.

I have reason to believe that the compile times that zoner's tools give you are somewhat inaccurate. So, I made a small utility that will give you very accurate times, to 15 decimal places. Get it here: tekcities.com/fragmeister/files/basic/protime.zip

You may have to right-click and click "save as".

Please give me comments, suggestions, or anything!

in DVD rippin' Post #138594
yes, it is. Here's what you do:
-use dvd decrypter to record the dvd as an .iso file
-use daemon tools to mount it as a drive
-open the .vob files (I think, they're the biggest ones, in the video_ts dir?) with vlc, set it up as a stream server with the output as your desktop and an avi or mpg file, and play it back.
The conversion from .vob to .avi can only happen in real time with vlc, but ripping the dvd to an iso on my old laptop only took about 30 mins.

I think that what you are trying to do is illegal! But if you still want to, download the vlc media player, use it as a stream server, and output the stream to a file, I think it can do avi, and you'll need dvd decrypter too.
videolan.org - vlc
dvddecrypter.com - dvd decrypter
And I almost forgot, you'll need daemon tools to mount the .iso from dvd decrypter: daemon-tools.cc

It does take a bit of work, but it should work. I've ripped parts of dvds to mpegs with it!

@evilsod2k: I know, but I mean you can't use a env_beam to trigger another entity, like you can with a trigger_once.

in env_beam, damage problem Post #138421
but you wanted both ends to move, didn't you? Remember, the miniturrets in hl were always triggered by a beam, maybe this is how they did it! then you'd only need 1 trigger_hurt.
Posted 18 years ago2005-09-30 13:04:33 UTC
in env_beam, damage problem Post #138419
well, can you use an env_beam to trigger an entity? If so, create a trigger_hurt that covers the whole area of the beam's travel. Give it a name, set it's flag "start off" to true, and make a multimanager that will turn it on and off, or just on, if this is sp. (then you don't need the mm!) Then use the env_beam to trigger the mm or the trigger_hurt. (and set the trigger_hurt's damage to something like 300, always works for me.)

sony! shudder they make heavy laptops, so I don't like them! (bad reason) But yeah, I guess i'll just have to go with cakewalk, for the price.
@m0p: I can get a mixer/with extremely powerful software for about $2600 new, in fact the band that i'm in is using it right now to produce a cd! But it's only for macs. I have a pc. And i'm not getting a mac just to do recording.
if fscking home studio worked, i'd use that!

theblackviper: what software do you use? I've used cakewalk homestudio for years, but it doesn't work with windows xp. Also, I'm looking into a firewire mixing console, and does your program work with that?

Now to help you, I would recommend cakewalk products, because I've always found them easy to use and affordable.

well I think there should be guns, but not right away. And lots of breakable stuff. And maybe don't make the breakable stuff that obvious. I'll make a small map to show you what I'm thinking, and I'm still working on lab stuff... some of it's really fun! (translation: lots of gibs) and it is all stuff that could be modified to a "after disaster" version, and hurt the player. Remember:
You may now upload files at this url: http://savefile.com/projects/724845

maybe use the crowbar a lot in the beginning, make it so that when the player gets a gun, theyre' REALLY glad they got the gun! And make it a crappy pistol, or shotgun with not much ammo. Make it fun.

get someone to build you a custom one. I'm thinking about building a computer a little better than yours, loading it with linux, and doing about $200-250 worth of case mods. Sell it for about $7-800! Building a custom computer, you can save hundred$. Btw, you know what processes are absolutely necessary to start with winxp?

technically, lcds have a refresh rate too, they never bothered to redesign the hardware, but I can't remember the details. Suffice it to say that I read it somewhere. Also, I'm not a huge fan of Sony, so i'm not "up" on their products. I've got a vaio pcg-k45, good computer, bad laptop. So I don't care about sony.
