pepper: You can use the HL Model Viewer for that, it opens the paks and you can view the models, the poses and everything for it in the window. You can also play the sounds and open the txt files (like titles.txt, sentences.txt etc).

I'm making a mod, and as the first level, the intro, I want the player to ride a truck until it stops and the level changes. I have the truck setup, it's a func_train and I've given it the preferred properties. When I play the map, the truck starts to drive. But when it's comes to a place, a bit from it's ending path_corner it "stops". Not the train itself, but the textures it seems.

I know, it's weird. The player carries on driving to the last stop, but the truck itself remains where the textures were left, or whatever. So the train is basically invisible with an exception of a "ghost-truck" left behind. I have no idea why it's like this...

I can upload the map so you can look at it if you want/need to.

(sorry, I know it's confusing, but I couldn't express myself any other way >:/ )

I was using -dev 'cause the cheats wouldn't work for me otherwise... However, when I play without -dev, that error disappears but no cheats seem to work (god, noclip, give WEAPON/ITEM, impulse, etc)...

Uh. Little help? :)

Thanks for that though, I didn't know of the limit before. :P

...and I'm back with a question. Might be more later though... :/

Alright. So I run my map. In the first room, there's a door infront of you. However, the door is not visible when you're aiming at it. At the top, it gives me the following error (or whatever it is): 'short ### surfaces' where ### is replaced by a (usually) three-digit number. Now, this happens throughout the map... objects disappearing when you look at them/other objects, and always with that message. I have no idea why it is like this nor how to fix it, so I'd appreciate any help.

Haha. Hey, atom, are you gonna make "themes" for this site later on? if so, can I make one? I've got plenty of unused layouts on my HD. I'm sure I could edit them to fit with this site. :)

I played it. Very good! I especially liked the scripted sequences at the end. But... I thought it was pretty weird. I mean, you started out in some research lab, you shrank, went through a hole and found yourself under a building or something. Then you're in a kitchen. Where'd that come from?

Anyway, great work. I enjoyed playing it. :)

In the ShoutBOX Live I got this error in the lower frame:

"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Is that bad? :P

I tried it in another map, where it worked. So, I tried deleting the battery and then creating it again, which apparently worked so... shrugs

1. Anyone know where I can find any good prefabs/prefab libraries? I need stuff like chairs, tables, bookcases, shelves, all kinds of stuff.

2. I want to have a scientist lay on a table like in the scripted_sequence dead_table3. However, when I do this with a monster_scientist_dead, he just takes the normal dead pose instead of doing the scripted sequence. It works (almost) with a monster_scientist, but when I try to place him on a table HL gives me an error that a monster_scientist is stuck in a wall. The scientist also screams when you hit him, which is quite disturbing since he's supposed to be dead.

3. I will ask this once more. Why won't an item_battery show up on my map?

I think that's all at the moment. Thanks for any help.

C++ varies alot from VB. I know very little of each, but I do know the basic syntax. Anyhow, I can't help you with your query. Sorry.
