Also, I reprocessed this one to look a bit more natural, and shooped out the annoying discarded chair (???) in the bottom-left corner. Much more satisfied now.
@Crollo: Apparently ImageShack disagrees. I'd prefer a small thumbnail link to what often goes on in these threads, which is the simple embedding of the full-sized image in the post. Seems a bit inconsiderate to those without a speedy connection.
Regardless, it hardly even seems like something worth taking issue with in the first place.
Boomer: Interestingly enough, about a month ago I was with a friend taking shots of the Moon with his telephoto, and when fiddling with them later on in Lightroom we noticed the same exact thing you mentioned.
Looks like he must've screwed around a bit with the colors in that photo as well... we were fairly stoned at the time.
DiscoStu, I also just got a 50mm f/1.8 Nikon lens recently The first two pictures in my last post were taken with it. Like you said, those lenses are pretty nice.
For the beach photo there I adjusted the exposure a bit in Lightroom, and used Exposure to get a Velvia-type look. I'm quite happy with it, overall. Here's another one from that day:
Yeah Striker, it's a hobby, but I'm considering maybe turning it into a career. Who knows. I'd always wanted to get into photography, but never really did anything about it until I ran into some money back in February and picked up a Nikon D3000. Not too great of a camera relative to every other DSLR Nikon makes, but it's cheap and certainly gets the job done. All those pictures were taken with that camera and the 18-55mm kit lens it came with.
While I do mostly agree with satchmo, this thread was already over in the first post and the argument lost for him with his unecessary Nazi comparison.
