It was the only page I could find that actually went into detail about the murders... believe me, thats definitely not where I get my news.

PrtScrn works too, although it doesn't create a file for you. You'll have to press Ctrl + V in an image editing app. I prefer doing it this way 'cause it doesn't create an unessicarily large bmp on my HDD.

Yes, you can do animation with MS3D.

And as for your second question, it depends on the person. In my opinion modelling (at least with MilkShape) is relatively simple to learn, and there are plenty of good tutorials for it out there.

Plus, it's an incredible bargain at something around $20, and you have full ownership over anything created in the program (unlike Max or Maya).

As for espen's post, MS3D has a shit-load more plugins than Max for HL, and they're already installed.

http://www.apfte.net/

While that page has a lot of overly-patriotic banter on it, go ahead and read the story near the top about Channon Christian and Chris Newsom.
The animals pictured above "allegedly" raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch it happen. An even more cruel fate awaited her...

Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth ... and then murdered her.

The mainstream media coverage of these murders have been glaringly absent from network television and nationwide newspapers. What coverage is available is watered down with legalese and charges. The coverage neglects to tell America how brutally and senselessly these young people were murdered.
I like to consider myself pretty desensitized, but this really got to me. I had planned a long rant shunning mainstream media for it's utter failure to inform the general public of this horrific event, but I think the article speaks for itself. And in case you're wondering whether that story is exaggerated, go ahead and Google their names. You'll get plenty of the same.

in my big/detailed map - to big for hammer Post #216694
First off, not really related to your problem, but get Hammer 3.5.

As far as I know there's no limit to the number of brushes and RMF in Hammer can have, so you'd only have to worry about the compile tools. Set -texdata as high as it can go, obviously. Try nulling every face unseen to the player. I usually build all of the architecture in my maps using NULL, so when I texture it I can make sure only the faces that need to be are rendered. That might reduce the amount of text memory used. func_wall as much detail as you can to reduce to the number of vis cuts, too.

Also try to keep in mind that those restrictions are there for a reason, and if you want your map to be playable, it's usually best to stay within the boundaries of the engine.

Also, iirc MSVC++ 2005 needs to be configured to compile the HL code. I use MSVC++ 6, which is what Valve used.
