At the last couple of day's iv been working on a map of mine. I Set up the hint brush completely wrong, and i had a solid brush hint content. i had to replace them all but i thought it was too much work, so i replaced the hints with 'white' texture.

when i tested my map, i noticed that the tiny lag that i had before in a specific place of my map had stopped, so i wondered. Was this the work of the white texture?
Does it gives a big change? will the fps be bigger?
So i started to searching for the answer.

i made two test maps called test3_a and test3_b
they both look same from the inside, but one has 'white' texture on every wall's side that you cannot see, and the other has basic texturing on the other side.

The result was kinda shocking.

It had about 86-94 fps

My maps are kinda small, but if there is a big map, this might be a giant result.

What i did is, i put the 'white' texture on every side of a brush witch i couldn't see in the game.

okay i have some problems with it. if i set the X value of the door to 90, it rotates / falls to its back (on a monster there) but i want it to fall on its front (on the player)

i also have a problem, that everytime som1 enters my map, the door has already fallen, like w00t, the player never trigered it, there are some monsters behind the door but, i set the monsters can't flag on, but it still happens.

Settings of the door:
name: fallingdoor
Pitch yaw Roll: 0 0 90
Speed: 150
Delay before close: -1
Damage inflicted when blocked: 1000

Flags:
Monsters can't

Whats wrong with it????

uh... well, if you have opposing force, you might know that in some places there is this torch grunt, who often comes up to a door, uses his weapon thing and then the door just falls and gets left on the ground.

i want to have a trap in my sven co-op map, that when a player comes up to a door, it falls on him and squashes /kills the player. i wanted to know how to do that.

help please

on your light environment or light or light_spot there is pitch. this regulates the shadows, have a go with that. If your too lazy then try the pitch on something like -35, but it depends on how much shadow you want.

The problem is that there is a problem which doesnt say whats the problem.

(svencoop keeps on shutting down when i try to go in my map and gives no errors)

Iv tried loads of things. like replacing some textures, changing the map into a big leak, removing all entities except plater dm, changing the light environment pitch and so on.... :( no progres!

This is also a problem with my first sven co-op map.

i just compiled my map with no errors and gotten into the game.
The map wont launch, and i get this error:

what should i do? help please!

the log file should be in the directory your map compiles into. i personaly dont know a reason why a compiling should stop. maybe you didnt set hammer up corectly?

okay... i got sven_co-op little time ago, and i started my first map... i already done a giant yob on my map but... for some reason i get this sh*t
