I was just talking in the general sense, like in terms of what's applicable to computer games, when I was mentioning 2d & 3d graphics. When I said you can do what you want in 2d graphics, I just meant that you could use bent lines as well as straight ones.

Why can 3d objects only be made up of straight lines in 3d graphics? In 2d graphics, you can do what you want (well i think you can).

i looked at the tutorial on the snarkpit tutorials website about making a sphere and i couldn't align the vertices of the 12-faced cylinder i made on the grid using vm. Because when i moved one vertice, all the other edges and vertices moved also so that when i aligned one vertice onto the grid, the other vertices moved off the grid. any1 have any ideas?

yere but i can understand how much better it is to use many blocks for a block-like room because you can easily manipulate the brushes to make something real complex and interesting (maybe).

How do i make a box-shaped room without using one simple block? i
have found it absolutely impossible to make a room like that using heaps of blocks because the i always have dimension problems (the brushes just don't fit together properly no matter what i try) so i have to put up with an uneven room.

i saw the tutorial but it doesn't apply to hammer because u can't make a cone in hammer. (at least i don't think u easily can). I will make a model instead. Does any1 know of any good model makers besides milkshape coz milkshape didn't work.

what exactly does the dll do? i thought when i opened hl.dll with a c++ compiler it would come up with the half-life source code. What is the difference between the half-life source which are in c++ source and c header files, and hl.dll?

when i use grid size of 1 unit and i want to resize a block to fit inside another block it doesn't work because the minimum distance i can move the block sometimes is 8 cm or 6 cm or something else instead of the 1 cm i asked for. Can any1 help?

PS - i didn't use vertex manipulation at all

Just wandering how I could replace the hl crowbar with the cs knife. The trouble i am having with this conversion is that the crowbar doesn't have a secondary fire mode and the knife in cs does so i can't just change the weapon model.
