I'd suggest taking the blue texture and making it more glass-like, and you can make it chrome and additive at the smae time, too!

make the texture additive, either in milkshape or using Jed's HLMV, then get the DLL files for model transparency. It should be transparent ingame without any modification after that.

I wish I could help, but I'm busy with my mod, my internet sucks, ect. Look on the bright side: I'm working all alone, with the exeption of a few voice lines and a model hack done by the good people here! At least you have a team. Give it time, there's no need to finish it quickly.

If you ported it, I'd have to wait a few years to play it, and you guys put a lot of effort into the goldsource version, porting it to source without changing it would make it terrible, and changing it would make all the previous efforts pretty much void. I can see we're on the same page here, and if your 'employers' disagree with you, just link them to here and they can learn for themselves how much time and effort would be wasted on a port.
Oh, yeah, and how is that beta version/demo coming along?

Well, yeah, but in this point in development, porting it to source would be a waste, it's better to start the source version from scratch instead of porting it and wasting all that nice work.

Get your "employers" on here. I have something to say to them...
NO! Give your team a break. They've got wonderful models, great code, and beautiful maps. If you were to port all that to the source engine, it would be all that work wasted. Models would have to be COMPLETELY redone to match ragdoll physics and detail, facial animation, ect. the code would have to be redone as well, since source uses much more advanced AI, and the maps would have to be rescaled, retextured, re-detailed, have most of the details converted to models, and recompiled, JUST to get to source's standards. What you have here so far is a wonderful mod for it's engine. Put it to source, and it's almost as bad as HL:S was. Your team has worked hard and long to get such a good mod, give them a break. Save source for the next project, because ports are too much work just to make to standard, and it's wonderful the way it is.
TO RECAP: Goldsource version: Great. Source version: Would be bad at this stage in development. Team: Hard working and dedicated.

No, it drops out of the vent right in the player's face unless they run.
EDIT: got it to work, I also gutted my map and posted it in the example map vault for other people's convinience.

it's not a real barney, it's an ambient generic.
I looked through the code, and it's not ggrenade, it's not handgrenade... I guess I'll have to do the trial and error involved in making it an env_model attached to a train and go a realistic speed.

I shall try spawning a 'grenade'.
Muzz: I doubt I could fit a grunt inside a vent, though.
EDIT: WTF? 'Grenade' spawns an AR grenade that bounces around and does'nt explode... :/ I guess it was meant for that sequence in the surface tension garage, but i always get two grenades instead of one there.

Okay, this is bugging me a bit. I had this scene envisioned, wherein the player would walk under a vent, and hear barney yell "EAT THIS" then the vent cover would break and an armed grenade (monster_handgrenade) would drop out of the vent.
But now I've found that monster_handgrenade is'nt coded as an entity, it's just in the FGD. I've tried an env_shooter with an env_explosion on the ground under it, but that looks bad, since half the time the 'grenade' is under the floor.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can salvage this?

The Cycling, I don't understand, but it seems to be a by-product of the system load error, caused by the RAM being around full. Try turning off your computer more if you always have it in standby or hibernation, to clear the RAM or buy a bit more RAM if you always turn it off. (Correct me if I'm wrong about the cause and fix of the error.)

:D! Really?! KASPERG IS COMING BACK TO TWHL!?
I was thinking an instrumental/futuristic/ambient theme. I was also thinking or making like 4-6 individual tracks, mushed together to make one eclectic, semi erratic theme. Kinda like take song, play it for 15-25 seconds, and then blend it into the next one.
That just might work, if you can implement it.

Also, keep up the great work

Global warming or not, huge amounts C02 can't be good for our health, and something is making the glaciers melt. It's always wise to conserve our non-renewable resources, as well. We have no idea how long we'll need them.

I only need a few things changed, none of which are brushes.
If it's that simple, why don't you do it yourself? We have many tutorials, plus a links page where you can get all the tools you need.
You can decompile it because it's a Valve map
You can decompile ANY map. I'm not sure Valve would go for it, though.
Really, it's a simple job, why pay someone to do it when we're all busy and you can do it yourself?
And then there's the recompile... a full compile takes time, and that's time you can't spend using anything else with, I find even the compilator uses a ton of my resources. If you really want someone to do it, at least list what you want them to do.

Nice. What's the story BTW? I understand it implements many new features, but that's almost all I know about this mod. I am currently DLing the trailer, But I want the storyline!
EDIT: Nice. Fast headcrabs, sniper rifles... I suggest that whoever made the 9mm pistol in the video scale it down, it's a bit to small. The maps are WIP, so I won't comment on them, although I noticed half the maps shown were the original ones showing off new tech and effects. Also, Since you're using Kate, I assume she is 'open source' and anyone can use her in a mod, by permission of the author? And storywise, Is it another "Guy in Black Mesa" mod, or is it further on in the HL storyline/Another place than BM?
I want answers, guys.
