I used the front page to read the thread, I did'nt see it was for source from there, and I did'nt notice that it was in the source forums. I don't pay attention. :\ I may consider using the hl1 deagle in my mod, provided I have your permission and it looks close enough to the one on the HD Otis model I'm using.

Jeez... I leave for 24 hours and so many things to answer...
when I convert them to 8 bit mono they sound like absolute --
Yeah... The quality really goes downhill when you do that, unless they're recorded in 8-bit.
I notice everyone else is putting in a bunch of radio-like voice effects and stuff
Yeah, but so far I don't need it. Besides, I have software that can add those.
What with Jeff's bottomless pit of a bank account, I'm sure he can just toss a cool ten thousand into hiring out a studio for his personal hobbies and all.
I'm all but certain you're being sarcastic, but still... :walter:
I've had pretty good luck making the sounds fairly acceptable when I put them down to 8-bit, perhaps my software (which my parents got for my brithday a year back), being comercial, can do it. Send me a link if you want me to try.
EDIT: The last Charlie lines have been implemented, and I'm glad to say they include an in-joke.

No. Hint brushes tell the game where to make visleafs. You need two hint brushes to have an area not rendered. Another tutorial, with more pictures:

Do whatever is more comfortable for you. At school I'll sometimes scribble floor plans, but I always make the map a lot different from the plan, usually for the better. If having a plan already out helps you map, go for it!

I recomend working on the maps. Maps are the lifeblood of any mod, because if done properly, they entwine all the features into the package. Plus, It's a good skill to have; http://www.twhl.co.za/journals.php?id=5609

Sounds like a good idea. One thing: If the team is deticated enough, they WILL work for free. (see Black Mesa) You may not be able to find coders, but If you don't don't worry. You don't NEED any weapons or NPCs, unless they are vital to the story.

1. It looks ugly and nothing like Op4's.
2. I can do that.
3. No model software besides an expired milkshape that I uninstalled
4. Use in mod.
5. mod is non-profit; selling it would be illegal because of the other content I have.

I was thinking of adding a trigger_camera to the beginning to each room that would show a picture/avatar of the author and maybe show a description or what not, maybe audio? I dunno it would add a little more dimension to it?
Yeah, I'm all for that. a little box textured with black and a single face with the author's avatar, and a text message saying 'Created by _____' The pic needs to be a texlite, though.
