Yeah, alas, I'm in software mode. Will it look right, then, on the other modes?

FX 255 makes it completely invisible.

I thought it might be the texture not being 100% 0,0,0 RGB, so I created a new texture, inside Wally, that was all 0,0,0 except a few white dots. The effect was the same.

Could it be my ZHLT? If the 'How to make rain' tutorial can be compiled correctly by others, it's my suspicion that it is my compiler. I'm using settings directly from the example map.

That just makes the effect more opaque. Thanks, though. :)

Solid will remove the blue bits, but it doesn't do the same for the black textures.

If I use the 'black' texture from the HL wad, then additive behaves as it is supposed to. Does Additive only behave correctly with an env_sprite?

Hi folks.. I used the 'How to Make Rain' tutorial for HL1 in your tutorial section. I had a little problem. I used Additive with an FX amount of 100, and the black areas of the rain texture are not invisible. They show up as translucent, but not invisible.

I downloaded the example map, compiled it, and it has the same problem. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Thanks.
