haha nice.. what I did on my horrormap for HL1 was I put; 'GOD IS NOW HERE!' painted in blood... man, thats the only map I wish I still had. Anyway man, keep it going. :P

I've always been interested with swat or army guys so I figured I'd model one on my break.
The head for the model was made using facegen, and a photo of Hugh Laurie (Dr. House).. it ended up looking like crap so I fixed up the uv of his face, and it turned out well. Other than that, not much to see yet... but its coming;
Comments and suggestions welcomed..

$845... Ya I got a suggestion. Its for a nurse. Tell here to get a bundled pc at walmart with at least 3gbs ram instead of two. That would probably run here about $7-800.
Shes a nurse, she doesn't need a custom built computer.

no it does'nt but you could export the model as an obj into softimage.

the plugin for maya is called prawl or prall or something

edit; Nevermind just got my sound to work.. my mic was muted in the sound options... yea.. FAIL.

I actually found a good one.. uploading it now to my vimeo account.. Quality is only at 70 right now so it kinda sucks.. but it shows some of the basics.. I will make some video tutorials though.. they are actually quite fun, I'll use a higher quality of course and I will actually talk.. to show ya's because with no sound it actually kinda sucks.. but yeah.. if anybody is using maya for HL2 modelling (I was last year so I know its possible I've just forgoton the plugins and whatnot) we could upload 'em here.. just some basic modelling techniques for HL2... just a thought, I'll make a nice clearer one with speech in the future.

@discostu, i totally know you ripped my .wav man. straight from my raving map, the beta, before it is even released. come clean man. i'm not upset that you straight ripped the .wav, thats what its there for. but the fact i'm not even mentioned in the credits.. what the hell man. btw, the featured artist is 'benny benassi' remixed by the 'global dj's'.
What do you mean he stole the track from you? all you seemed to have done was convert it.. If you made the track entirely by your self that would be different.. but seriously if DiscoStu uses that wav for his mod well then sure he should say thanks for converting the track.. but he doesn't have to credit you, benny benassi.. yes.

Im way underweight.. before I got sick I was 135, no matter what I eat.. and now I'm 5'11 and 108pounds. i thought I would have gained some back but no, not yet.. my hairs still abit thin.. should go get a buzz cut to make it grow in thicker... yeah...

I have the same keyboard, the G15 The only things wrong with it is the legs, there broke.. put still works great without the tilt :( but I don't need it.

I'm going to buy a robotic arm kit for myself, and remove the grapple to be replaced by a powerful light that will shine done on my keyboard, then ther'll be another motion were the arm will move up, and rotate revealing the webcam Im going to have on it... Its going to be leet... now, just need some money...

yeah, I need to finish a level design model by tomorrow due at 4pm, thurs we have a written 3 pg assignment due, then on friday our high poly is due. the teacher is throwing projects at us left and right, she says its more like the industry, so shes trying to make us more involved with schedules..

Well, usually when I post work I never get around to finishing it.. but not this time, the assignment is due on the 27th of Nov. so it must be done by that date...
whats even better about that is there is no Poly Limit whatsoever, I hate low poly modelling, sometimes its good to just kick back, and model, not being worried about counts! and texture count and size doesn't matter either.. RIGHT ON:

yeah over the summer I built a new rig with all the high end parts so now that Im back at college, I have no money anymore and all I need is two more parts, a psu, and a corei7-920. Its maddening when your so close to completion.

On that note Srry, yea tis true, How can Morgan know what can and cannot be down with the engine but anyway I'm not meaning
to bash the mod, or even you Morgan, just yeah research the engine as much as you can, learn how to create icons (40x40 .bmp file, if its game.bmp, rename the structure to game.ico) change the splashscreens for practice.. learn how to change the loading screen, fonts would be another you can learn to change.. anyways, yea, anyway, this mod does seem to have an interesting story line, but as of now, remember it is in its earliest phase.. and btw I know how hard it is to creating a mod without writing the plot out first, thats why I never succeeded. I was to focused on all the other stuff to do for the mod that I just winged the story line as I went on... a perfect example of this is my '121 Communications mod'

take a look through that.. sure it seems to be going along great, but there was no storyline, so it failed miserably.

Yes Morgan I do realize that the plot is just as important as everything else.. but to lead a team, you should know as much as you can learn about modding the half-life engine.

yeah, I'm almost 24 now, and I've left the barseen at 21.. I hardly drink now, and when I do, its a rum'n'coke at dinner or something.. I never drink to get drunck anymore..

um.. well if I was members of this site, I would like to see contributions from you Hipo... what do you do? Do you model, map... and if so can we see some screenshots of your past work? As of now, it kinda sounds like you want to create a mod team, but the only participation you seem to want to do is order other's around.

Now I hav'nt followed this thread, nor have I seen your last thread, so these suggestions might be completely irrelevent, if so just ignore.

Btw, you want people to donate money so your 'staff' can get paid?

guys, just so you know, game companies rely alot on modelling and whatnot, having the ability to create a highpoly character, and how to create a lowpoly characters with excellent texturing that makes it look to have more polygons then it actually does..

Piece of advice; If you have wicked ass screenshots of some maps you have created for the source engine in your portfolio, its just going to be tossed in the pile. producers want something not done before, something that pops out at them, like a game character that only has 500 Polygons (tri's) but looks to have 2000 because of the proper use of texture maps..

animating is important, they want to know that you can rig anything, knowledge of specular, bump, normal, and color maps is a given.. oh and right now, a good knowledge of Maya, since most leading companies are starting to stray from 3Ds Max..

Anyway... yeah.
