in Scripting an NPC to Move Post #331423
Hi 2muchvideogames, thanks for the response.

I'm not starting with a slave, the slave warps in - using the warp in entities from Angry Carrot's example map:

http://twhl.info/vault.php?map=3157

Right now it's not working, after the first slave is killed, the grunt just stands there and I can't get his attention or kill him.

I should also mention that I don't want the grunt to run off to the other slave as soon as it is dead, I want him to walk over and inspect the dead body as he normally would, and THEN hear the new slave warping in and go run after it.

Does the scripted sequence need to be placed where you want the monster to run to, or is the monster able to find the entity you want it to go after by putting its name in the "target" field?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get a grunt who is fighting off alien slaves that are warping in through various corridors to chase after a slave as it warps in around the corner from his initial position.

What is the best way to get the grunt who has just finished killing a slave to hear another slave warping in around the corner, causing him to run off to where the new slave is and attack it?

I have been messing around with trigger relays, path corners and scripted sequences but I can't get anything to happen.

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers.

Alright, I'm in.

I've come up with a decent concept today and put a few hours into it.

Freeman will be required to recover a piece of computer hardware - possibly a hard drive with data/codes/information required to get the portal machine to work correctly.

I am currently working on a map based within Black Mesa that I don't think would integrate well with the story that has been proposed.

I'd still like to contribute but I would have to make a rather small map to get it done with only a month due to time constraints.

Do the levels have to be based in Xen or is it the hub map that will be based in Xen and the levels can be anywhere/anything?

Reading from this thread:

http://twhl.info/forums.php?thread=18954&page=last

Sounds like SOHL 1.9 is buggy, but 1.8 also is buggy??? Hard to make sense of the thread. Can someone please advise the latest bug free version of SOHL? Cheers

How could they not release Half-Life 3? It would be a guaranteed cash cow, and they have the resources to make it great.

I'd also be very interested in a Source port of DoD and the inclusion of bots to keep such an awesome mod alive.

Damn, this is a shame, I would have liked to participate in this project.

I haven't set up hammer in years but I've downloaded Sledge, Vluzacn's ZHLT compiling tools and Spirit 1.8a. Is anyone able to link me to a tutorial on how to configure these so that I can create a map suitable for this project?
