I had used many level changes in my maps but this one just doesnt work ,I have the 2 same info_landmarks for each level, the level_change in the first level is set to level2 and in the other level its set to level 1 ,their info_landmarks are the same :x

so...what the hell is wrong?I tried 5 times and the map's compiling is so slow that I'm gonna go crazy

help me!!!

ok, just make sure you have the following:

2 landmarks entities in each map with the same name.
Name: landmark1 (example)
2 trigger_changelevel brush entities in each map.
Name: tomap2
New map name: map2
Landmark name: landmark1
2 trigger_transition brush entities in each map.
Name: landmark1 (landmark's name)

Since you have a large map, make two small maps that are similar and connect them using a changelevel. Get that to work first then use the working test as a model for the change in your project map. If this still doesn't work, try the tutorial on it or maybe even download the example map to be used as a model.

I've had trouble with these before, and what usually causes it is the lack of the trigger_transition entity. If you get an error message, the main problem i got was getting stuck in the walls of the next map, I think it gets confused which entities to transport to the next map without the transition trigger. Always be sure you have everything labeled correctly as well.

What exactly is going wrong?

You say it just plain doesn't work?

If you have done it before in the past, just copy the stuff you made before and paste it where you want in your map, then go through and re-name everything to what Rim said up there.

I think that could be the problem...you didn't name the level changes (the trigger_changelevel, I'm assuming). You might have to name them.

its not working now! :( (level_change)

I just placed trigger_transitions in front of the level changes named with the same landmark names but now non of them are working!

hey you told me that it would work Rimrook!

Look here is the situation ;
''1st map''
change_level:
Name:siktir
New map name:p1v2
Landmark name:777

transition:
Name:777

landmark:777

''2nd map''
change_level:
Name:siktir
New map name:p1v1
Landmark name:777

transition:
Name:777

landmark:777

:zonked: whats wrong

what is the problem?! does it crash? do you get stuck? is compiling taking too long?
Posted 19 years ago2005-04-08 21:21:45 UTC Post #102629
get rid of the transitions, that should be what is causing the problem.

Posted 19 years ago2005-04-09 10:13:15 UTC Post #102724
did I made my self clear or did screw up?
Posted 19 years ago2005-04-09 11:04:46 UTC Post #102741
That is suppose to happen, and it will.

This is why you're new map must be in a different location on the grid.

make sure you do not overlap.
Posted 19 years ago2005-04-09 11:11:40 UTC Post #102743
so both of them must be in the same location :

right?
Posted 19 years ago2005-04-09 13:29:01 UTC Post #102770
Yeah thats why I hate level Changes cause they have to be in the exact same place!
