Can someone sumit an example map with sound....

And use custom sounds. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I would, but i just don't have time. I think all you have to do is use ambient_generic, give it a name, put the path as your custom sound, and tick the "don't loop" and "start silent" flags. Then make a trigger or something with the target as the name of the ambient_generic. The custom sound should be in your "sounds" folder, too. If you want it to be a sound that just loops in the background near a point, don't give it a name and untick the "don't loop" and "start silent" flags.

When you upload a map with custom sounds to the vault, be sure to include those sounds. I hoped this helped.

i need elavatorr for my map. Hope i make one 2night :/ when its done ill send the map to u and u can check it out? how that sound :P and i have already told u about the GOLDWAVE and Half life stuff and i really dont know what is wrong with ur sounds :/

Thats exacty how supermechacow, but it doesn't work for me. I just wanted an example map to see if its my HL.

All you need to do in an example map superMechacow is a player start, a big box as a room, a trigger, and an ambiance_Generic thing. If you do make one, I would prefer it to be a custom sound.

a screw it. ur sounds aren't playing because (watch developer mode carefully) they are in the wrong format. I tried a custom alarm sound and everything was set up properly, but when a played it, the developer said the sound pathname and something about stereo.

To fix this, open up sound recorder "Windows: Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder", and then open your sound. then go to Save As... and below where it shows "Save as type:" it shows the format of your sound. click on "change" and set the format to PCM and the Attributes to "11,025 Hz, 8 bit, Mono. That is the standard and I think required format for CS and HL sounds.

Hope you fix it...
