When i try to open one map that I have created myself and that opened perfectly this morning i get such an error:

Oops! SerializeRMF() v2.2 tried to load a file v0.0. Aborting.

I've never heard of somethin like that! After this error i get another err that says "There was a file error"...
How is that possible??? The map worked fine this morning and i haven't done anything with the file... What happened????

This World Craft/Hammer editor error means you are mix matching prefabs and maps made in different versions of WC/Hammer. Sometimes this is bogus, and then it means the level has been corrupted, or WC/Hammer has been corrupted. See also missing [ in texturedef.

I'm guessing your map might've been corrupted. Try opening the VMX file instead.

Sorry, not the VMX file, that's the HL2 backup. I can't remember what the backup file for the old Hammer is called...

Sooo this means that my map won't be openable anymore?

Well the .map file runs... Strange, eh?

Everything ok now! I saved the .map file as a .rmf file and it opens now! I guess that the .map files are the backup files for the "old hammer"

No, RMX are the RMF backups. MAX are, believe it or not, the MAP backups.
