For some reason, when hammer is comiling my map it look in c:documents and settings area of my computer and says error Ryan.map not found, i dont know why it looks there ( i havent put ANY areas of the configs to go there) and i still dont know what it looks for ryan?

But i found that if i export my map to Ryan.map to the c:documents and settings folder it will then compile, but then it gives me the map not found error so then i have to go to my c:documents and settings folder and copy the Ryan.bsp to my count-strike map folder..... I was wonder why it would do this, if there is any othere way to stop this?

And will it matter if i change the Ryan.bsp to Two_Rooms.bsp or cs_assault05.bsp or anythign like that?

Right now i guess im just happy beable to have a way to compile a map, but this is just strage and confusing of why i have to do it this way?

Put up a screenshot of your path settings. Try changing the compile interface from Normal to Expert and see if that changes anything.

Don't use so many question marks!

heres the screen shots, as you can see, everything is pointing to the right area, there is no path leading to my doc settings folder, yet when i go to file and save as it takes me to the docs and settings folder and automaticaly inserts Ryan....

Aha, I see. Reinstall Hammer in a real directory, on the same drive as HL, i.e. in C:SierraHammer. The dot in the path name is confusing Hammer, and then when it goes to finish off the compile by copying the map into the HL directory, it can't find it. Daft old program, but you have to live with it.

I FIXED IT!!!! WOOT WOOT thanks to your guys help of course, but i made a simple cube, hollowed it out placed to spawn points (T and CT) and a light_enviroment entity and there was a buy zone when i played T, how come????

Odd. I'm not a CS expert but it must be something to do with the fact you haven't defined individual buyzones =[

Buyzones are made around all spawns if you don't define seperate ones.
