Is there any way to get the materials (vmt. i think) from say, Half-Life Source, into my old WAD format so I can stick it into my HL1 map?

All I really want to know is how to get it OUT of material format I know all the other stuff...

Any Takers? you might win a forum award lol

No cool method that I know of. For the HL2 textures in the "Unique Map" compo, I just used the Print Screen key and Paint Shop Pro to get textures into Wally.
By the way, if you use this method, I would suggest browsing the textures in hammer with a smaller resolution. You dont really want to end up with a WAD made out of 512x512 textures :confused:

Get this program, VTF Explorer. This will allow you to extract the materials as TGA's, where you can edit them to your hearts content. Then, it's a relatively simple process to put them into a WAD file, but I'm assuming you know that already. ;)
