Man I know it sucks the big One111!
No but really I was very disappointed when I found out that all the ichthyosaur could do was spin around in a circle in the fetal position or whatever. I would do anything for a mod that gave the ichthyosaur its HL1 AI back. I would make HL2 10 times better, (from my point of view anyway).

A scientists killing test chamber just isn't complete without the tangy zip of ichthyosaur! :P :P

If anyone knows how to code or knows of some one that could do this it would be single greatest improvement to half-life 2 ever (in my opinion of course).

Perhaps ask Black Mesa Source to help :P
Copy files maybe?
Ask a coder on another site...

Any of those could work ;)

the ichthyosaur in hammer is the same one they used for Half life: source, and it seems to move around ok in that. well.. it does on surface tension. but there have been times that its just sat there doing nothing. there must be AI for it somewhere?

There's code for in Half-Life: Source. It's a different game. Different code. (Albeit slightly)

I second the for-vote regarding restoring the ichthyosaur back to its former, glorious, independent-AI self. Nothing brought tears of joy to my face back in the days of Worldcraft than seeing an ichthyosaur try to satisfy its eternal hunger for flesh using some helpless scientists I provided for its entertainment. Valve, if you're listening, BRING BACK THE ICHTHYOSAUR! Fast zombies are a poor replacement - we want the real deal, even if it's just the old AI copy-and-pasted into the new model. I suggest we get an official petition of some sort going to bring this to Valve's attention - I'm sure if enough people supported it, we'd see results.

Hmm, I was gonna use one of these things in my next (as yet unstarted) map.

I guess I won't now, if they don't work properly. :(
