The news and the front page are exactly the same! Change one of them or remove one of them!

The News page will do something different in a bit. In fact, I can comment it out now as I've moved the RSS feed image.

Just to keep you all updated:

• RSS news feed has been added
• The Map Vault bug of not allowing users to post a large description has been fixed
• Moderators can now edit comments (including deletion and whatnot) in the Map Vault
• Moderators can now edit Journal postings

The little dots look a little tacky, but they're useful for lurkers... Similarly colouredLambda symbols instead (but done good)? Also, what about BBCode and smilies for the map vaults comments as well?

Why change it? It's only an example map, nobody looks at those things for that.

The real purpose of journal modding for us admin-types is so that we can delete users' journal entries when they're simply things like 'asfgsdg' or things intended to annoy or spam repeatedly. Multiple entries within the same timeframe can be edited into one as well. (This is also a user option, but it's rarely used.)

Bratty, on the testbed regular users may edit their posts if they're the last in the thread :). The Map Vault voting is pretty different... an' other stuff. I'll post a full changelog when I finish and upload it all, so you don't miss anything.

The indication images for the forums could use a title tag for FF users... nice for those that don't know what color indicates what.

Yeah. I ran a few automated things based on the titles, and I went through and fixed any I noticed out-of-place still. As for the rest, s'up to you :P.

I also think that there should be a pip system for members.

you get two pips to start out. one for proper use of the map vault, and one for proper use of the forums. they could be taken away if the mods are getting pissed at them. then, you could get two more, one for exception maps posted in the map vault(like the award), and one for being a person who helped out with the answering of questions and generaly above average forum behavior(like the forum award thingy).
then a fifth pip if your deamed an especially valued member by the mods, or if your a mod.

(i relized the following is confuseing now that ive typed it, and reread it)

and this could be pretty well implimented in code. with a bianary system(the 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16...system), like so:

you have a 1 if your a good forum user (pip in first slot, no pips in second through fifth slot)

you have a 2 if your a good vault user (no pip in slot one, or in slots 3 through 5, but a pip in slot 2)

you have a 3(1 + 2 = 3 ) if you are both of the above, and hence have a pips in only slot one and two

but say you have a 1, and a 2, and are a exceptional forum user, you would also have an 8, since 4 would be an exceptional map vault user, and hence would have an 11, and hence a pip, pip, no pip, pip, no pip.

you could also just have a number of 0-5, for each thingy you get a +1 to that number, and hence a pip(or if your being lazy, you could just use the map vaults star pics

Muahah whilest browsing through the forum posts here I noticed the ability to edit posts... Believe it or not I remember when I asked for this to happen about a year ago at this time. If I remember correctly.. It was put down as a bad idea that would not happen.

Yeah, but the reasons are still there ? that's why you'll only be able to edit your posts if there're no replies to it.
