Hm, well, all I can recommend is reinstalling/updating your graphics drivers.

This probably isn't the best place to ask since it's not a modelling site ;) We'll help if we can though. Try the official forums for Milkshape if there are any?

I had to hunt hard to find a working link for MS3D. Make sure you got a good download. It's only good for 30 days too.

I tried importing a Poser model into MS3D but didn't use it because the vertex count was phenomenal. Wanted to maka a naked chick walking around the lab and have all the sci's following her around. LOL

How do you use Milkshape to make models? I made it, but how do you compile it into a .mdl?? never works.

does any1 know of any free programs (with no 30 day restrictions)?
can't i get past the 30 day restriction by re-installing milkshape?

Nope. Reinstalling Windows? Perhaps...

if your milshape crashes try http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/files/mesa31dlls.zip and put em with the ms3d.exe :)

then buy the thing.. or get a converter and use another modeling prog... and for the love of god don't ry and 'crack' programs like that.. its not only sad, but it kills any future development - you're shooting your self in the foot

its only like 20 bucks.... not a big investment... they did take the time to make the damn thing and time is money so fork over yours heh...

IMHO milkshape should only be used for converting.

lol, imo milkshape, 'useful' as it is, is not worth TWENTY QUID and never will be. Its a poorly made app and only good as an intro to modelling, there are better freeware apps out there.

amen.... milkshape is used only for the file conversions and decompiling HL mdl files... at least... on my computer thats all its good for... as for the 30-day restriction... meh... i usually reinstall windows fairly regularly too... try doing a system registry backup before u install it... then when u remove it... clean the registry so it goes back to what u saved... reinstall milkshape and you should get another 30 days... if not... reinstall windows...
