hey ive been makeing a map for css and i have had sum trouble with my objects. sum of them are really bright and then when u hit em the go back to there regular color for a second than back to being really bright. any suggestions??? My thought was that i put it under the wrong entity name or sumthing. and also can u guys write what kind of objects go with the different prop names? thanks allllot

I've had this when I've mistakenly used model textures on brushes.

I've also had it as a result of poor cubemap setup.

So I'd check those things first.

Most standard large/nondynamic props go on prop_static, most smaller ones like trash go on prop_physics/multiplayer, and that's really what you should worry about. Dynamic and such accept most models for special applications.

i deleted my cubemap in hammer than tried it again and typed buildcubemap and i got an error that says some textures are not available on disk and other crap!! man im ssoooo mad aghhh!!

That's not a relevant error. Reload the map and the shiny issues should be gone.

It dulls down the color because you're using a texture which is somewhat reflective and so its not bright anymore since its using a better reflection than just the skybox which the default is.

Yes. You might want to include the BSP too in case it's a configuration/your PC issue.
