1)what are those big metal moveing things surrposed to be?(like the one "dog" lifts up to let you past)
2)what is a combine? An alien, just a person in a suit?
3)near or at the end when you are in the citadel and you are in that reactor thing tring to stop the portal. i climbed to the top killed the gunships. now what?

1) The big moving black things are the citadel walls. They grind up the floor and act as a power supply for the central tower as well as a defensive perimmetre.

2) The combine are an alien race which have claimed an unknown number of worlds including Xen and Earth. They take in the strongest beings (in Earths case the human race) and transform them into droning bio-mechanical killing machines. (Did you follow the story of the game at all or did you just skip the dialog to get to all the shooting?)

3) Shoot the energy balls into the central portal (or "the green glowing thingy")

Spag.i did that and nothing happend.i only had time to fire one however.mayby i need to climb faster or leave the gunships to keep shooting.

If the combines are aliens how come Gordens old adminestrater commands them?

how come some of the aliens that used to try to kill you in HL1 now are helping you?

ok now i finished that new qustion.
what is the G-man trying to do? create a world of which he controlls or clearing up the alien race on earth and makeing sure that the combines or anything from zen ever return?
How could the combines invade zen any way when striders and apc`s can not jump between the floating ilands of zen and much of the bigger ilands consists of small tunnels.
also about zen. what makes those ilands float and why don`t they al get pulled into and pussed togeter by the small gravety zen has.

And as for you newest questions.

1) The G-man is very mysterious and very little is known of his origin or his intentions.

2) The combine used mortar synths for the invasion of Xen. You see then floating through the sky shooting beams into the floor on the final chatper before fighting nihalanth. You also see them in the citadel at the end of HL2.

3) Xen is a border world linked together by rifts in space. I think if they can levetate and produce electricity from within their own bodies then levitating a few rocks must be as easy as us building planes and helicopters.

Maybe you can write all these questions in a letter to vALVE, since they were the ones who made these two games. It's OK to ask questions, but it seems you want to criticize the games on some of their less understood aspects. :zonked:

Boo! Half-Life 2 sucks. Too much combine, combine are boring. They could at least vary the enemies, we've got what... 3 types of combine and antlions. It's also incredibly easy. I played it on Hard mode and died less than 5 times, and completed it in a few hours. But then again I pwn everyone at everything.

But we also had different species of headcrabs, lots of zombies (more "human" and way more fun to kill than the HL1 zombies). Striders were menacing, but Gargantua and Gonarch had a bigger horror factor to them. The only thing I miss in HL2 are boss battles like the 3 Tentacles, Pit Worm, etc.
Although If wanted big boss battles, Serious Sam would be the game to play.

HL2 wasnt boring. Heck, it's the only game I've ever played were you could just walk around the map (no combat) and still enjoy it :D

mOp. if you want a harder HL2 then you could help me make a mod ive been planning as i can only map.
I need someone to make new props (cars that are not smashed up and a new train engin mostly)
, i need someone who can put new background on main meue
and i need new speach for the rebels and some for combine.
when you have done all thoses i will finish my mod which will be mush harder.

Hmmm...i have a different theory on the border world of Xen being soo floaty.

As urb said (and that in which in my opinion i agree with) is that xen is just a border world connected by rifts in space. I think that the gravity of planets (and magnetic forces from planets) affect the xen rocks. Depending on their position near or far from rifts the better the floaty rock (as you should know if you played HL1 is that some rocks did fall) so, basically, the planetary powers (gravity and magnetic) effects reach through the space rifts and with the large mixups of different powers and power levels cause Xen rocks to be at different levels

can someone make a new train engin and send it to destroyer@ottersville.co.uk as i have tried to make one but it looks crap compared to eveything else
