I'm going to make a ceiling crush the player tru a button but will this crash the game or will the player just die? This sounds very dumb but just to make sure. I guess the ceiling could be done with a func_door going down? :zonked:

func door would be easyer. Just make "damage on <don't remember this word>" 100 or so and player will die.

No, i would think something like a ceiling crushing a player would cause any errors (so long as you have another layer above the moving ceiling) :)

Why not test such a thing in-game before asking here?

Meh.... Maybe a func_door going down and at the edge a trigger_hurt parent it to the func_Door so that the player dies just a little faster then when the ceiling really hits the player? :nervous:

My computer isn't what you say... great.

When I get a crash it takes for-ever to make things right again..

isnt there a 'damage when blocked' or something like that with door and train propertys? So you wouldnt need a trigger_hurt :)

set your object to func_door.
tell it to move down sounds ect.
set blocking damage to anything higher than 0

I've done it and it's really cool and all but my light source models are gone! There still in hammer and all but in game there gone.

How can I prevent this? :tired:

No, well, if the door gets activated and goes down to crush the player, yes, then they are. But I though that normal you shud be able to see them ?

I'd've expected so; if you delete the door and they come back, then probably not.
