Hey I was woundering how I can install or set up custom maps so that they work in steam? I've checked the folders many times, I know where to put the bsp file but I'm not sure where to put the wads and such. Can anyone tell me where I should put the files?

Note: I can set up just bsp files no problem, but I run into problems with custom wads and the like.

I personally e-mailed Gabe Newell asking for tutorials on this and was referred to this page.

OK I KNWO WHAT THE PROB IS If it is for cs i know. Create the wads and paste them into sierra/half life/valve folder. Open Valve Hammer and do add the textures using OPTIONS then ADD WAD. Compile the map(either expert or ormal) if it says COULNT FIND ... just ignore it. TAKE THE WADS AND ASTE THEM INTO Steam/steamamps/UREMAIL/counterstrike/cst
ike now copy and paste the .bsp of the map into the same folder ( so from sierra/counter-strike/maps TO Steam/steamamps/UREMAIL/counterstrike/cst
ike/maps. now open steam then cs and CLICK NEW GAME. slete ur map and play it an the wads work i just found this out now BY MY SELF without any dodgy tutorials :/
